One Way or the Other

We can destroy and end all joy,
Or we can nourish and we will flourish.
We can hide and lie and everything worthwhile will die,
Or we can be open, and grow,
And the truth we will come to know.
You can love only yourself and only your family,
Or you can learn to love humanity.

We will relate to our brothers
One way or the other,
If it's not a love that's brotherly
Then it will be World War III.

We can breed greed and envy,
Or we can teach respect and sympathy.
We can work to be proud and ambitious,
Or we can develop love and tenderness.
We can fight for control and submission,
Or we can strive for integrity and freedom.

We will find growth in learning,
Or our decayed hearts will be yearning.
Love for your fellows you will proclaim,
Or hate for yourself is all that remains.
We will achieve peace and goodwill,
Or we'll suffer war and blood will spill.

We will relate to our brothers
One way or the other,
If it's not a love that's brotherly
Then it will be World War III.

The world will know happiness for everyone,
Or it will perish and the misery will escape no one.
Life will be held in esteem,
Or the worshipping of Death will be screamed.
Either the power and spirit of Good will overwhelm,
Or Evil will reign and man the helm.
