In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall

Author: Souladvisor

Oh how I hate my mirror, it is of no use to me.

I can’t see very clearly the things important to me.

I need a mirror clear and bright to see the reflection of my soul.

I need it now to fix some things, once and for all.

When you wake up in the morning you can see your hair a matted mess.

This gives you chance to tidy up, and maybe wear some makeup or a beautiful dress.

I get so frustrated when I want to fix things, for I’ve no clue where to start.

Should I start from top to bottom, or take the whole thing apart.

I think it’s kind of difficult to fix the things I cannot see.

If Allah doesn’t give me some good sense, I just don’t know where I’ll be.

Oh mirror, mirror, there you hang, you’re not a looking glass.

The Prophet said, the believer is a mirror of a believer; for sure this is my only chance.

Abu Hurairah, (Radhiallahu Anhu), narrated that Allah’s Messenger, Sallalahu Alaihi Wasallam, said: [The believer is a mirror for the believer and the believer is the brother of the believer. He safeguards his property for him and defends him from behind. ] [Reported by Al-Bukhari, in Al Adabul Mufrad, (no 239), Abu Dawood 3/1370/no 4900 and others. Its chain of narration is hasan.]

When looking into a mirror recite: “O Allah, even as You have given me a good physical form so also favor me with good morals and manners; and prohibit the Fire from scorching my face.”

Or

“All praise is due to Allah who has created me in the most befitting manner and who has beautified my face in the extreme and made me from the Muslimeen.”
