A little about me
I am Sonia Cristina Pinto, an art lover, language teacher, translator and an aspiring (and inspired) writer. This page is a tribute to art and the artists I like and a place for people to learn a little about my love of art and literature and read some poetry written by me. Someone I met said in my poetry "your heart is screaming", and I agree, it honors me that someone who barely knows me could say that about my writing. If my heart is screaming, nobody is gonna ever gag it, even if they don't like to hear what my heart screams.I see no problem in screaming hearts, I'd rather scream than suffocate. I guess she defined my poetry in a very nice way, they are "screams", and maybe they don't mean to be much more than "screams". My only hope is that my screams can touch someone else's heart (I mean anyone who reads the poetry). I feel the need to, once in a while, scream my heart out because life is suffocating enough with all the conventions, morals, ethics, responsabilities, failures, heartbreakings, etc. I love ART and I think that ART is the only place where all the feelings, all the screams, all the craziness, all the love, and all the so called unrealistic things are accomplished. I have always wanted to be an artist, and I guess I have ALWAYS been one. I love the artists because they can die many times, go mad many times and come back to life as if they were "reincarnating" in the same body.
