You Feel
You feel your feet are sliding out from beneath you; your world is shattering around you. You’re scared, lonely and tired of struggling to keep some hint of sanity. You’re not sure how to prevent it so you let it just engulf you.

You’re ready to catch yourself on the first foothold you come across. You can feel your hold on life weakening with each foothold you miss. Your hands are becoming slippery and you feel like you’ve nothing to hold on to.

If you close your eyes you’re afraid you’ll fall faster. Spinning out of control, you mind is no longer your master. Life seems to have lost you and you have lost yourself. With every beat of your heart you feel your chest tightening.

You feel like the air you breath is being squeezed out of you each time you inhale, you seem to be gasping for air. You feel as though you’re not catching on to your life quick enough, you feel it fleeing from you rapidly, no hesitation.

Don’t look away open your eyes, let me see the intense pain you’re feeling. Let me be your foothold in friendship; let me be your handgrip as you climb on to the top. I’ll calm your heartbeat and give you a reason to breathe.

Together we’ll climb as I hold your hand, I’ll yield to you my footholds, side by side. I’ll be your eyes when you can’t look up to see the light of day. I’ll be your heart when yours feels tattered and bruised. I’ll give you the air you need.

Trust in yourself and believe you can make it. I will help you climb the mountain you have taken on in life. I can’t climb it for you as you know but as your friend you have my hand and I’ll even provide the smile you are missing.
