Poem about the Ivy League Torah study
Program
(written during
the summer of 2004)
The day starts off at 7:30
When Eric knocks on my front door
I lazily acknowledge him
Turn to the side and sleep some more
Some three hours later
For breakfast I wake up
I stumble down the hall half asleep
And in class I end up
The clas is Rabbi Metzgerz
For sleep I have no Choice
As soon as I doze off to sleep
He’ll wake me with his blaring voice
The next class’s Rabbi Pinson’s
His concepts are so deep
That even if I tried to snooze
He’ll teach me in my sleep
Next is Rabbi Kaplans class
He’s a giant flesh and mind
I’m scared that if he tried to sleep
He’d kick my big behind
Right after’s
Rabbi Schochet
Sometimes he gets so mad
He calls us mice and roaches
And bangs on Eric’s head
The program’s great
The concepts are so deep
There’s one flow though
We get no time to sleep
