The Ocean is a Monster,
Toiling, boiling,
Devouring helpless vessels,
Casting their bones ashore.
He cares not whether
They carry gold,
Or even if
They're young or old:
The Ocean is a Monster,
Beware his deadly claw.
The Ocean becomes a Lover,
Beguiling, smiling,
Caressing salty sails and spars,
Quietning his angry roar.
He cunningly charms,
And overpowers
All who venture,
Then he glowers:
Again he is a Monster,
Beware his deadly claw!
