MODERN POET

Hi! This is the 'real' me.

Today, I decided to become

a 'Modern Poet'.

I shall dispense with Rhyme

also Alliteration

and I'm writing the way I 'talk'.

You won't find words like

'Enwrapt' or 'lest'

in any of my poems !

(lovely poet-words, long dead, but

will not leave off singing).

I know that I really have become

a Modern Poet

because today

I bought a copy of

'Blazing Fruit'

from the bookshop

and anyway

this poem sounds like me

and I'm not going to think that

I've done WRONG......

..........I've just read it aloud

and now I'm confused

bemused

got the feeling my poem will be refused

Ooops......sorry !

Will the real ME please stand up !!!
