To Love and to Cherish

You love me like the misty rain that softly floods the stream,

The Moon sleeps in my pocket now, forever.

You say you will be there for me 'til lovers cease to dream,

You set me as a seal no force can sever.

I catch your glance in passing, and not a soul suspects

the warmth that look awakens in my heart.

My love is like the sunshine that a quiet lake reflects,

But then, you've known this from the very start.

When first you placed upon my hand that sacred band of gold

our love was bound together throughout life,

For you were sent to me, my love, to have and then to hold,

From this day forward I became your Wife.

A basket filled with dreams has flown, yet still our love is new,

When last we kissed it was the sweetest ever.

I know you will be there for me until my life is through,

And, should God wish it so,. . . . .until forever.
