The Song Of The Elvaston Wheelwright

Take seasoned Elm, to make the Nave,

(For this, you have to use a lathe),

You next must learn to make a Spoke,

(Be sure to use well-seasoned Oak).

When making Felloes, don't be rash,

(Be certain that the wood is Ash).

Of course you need to make the Tyre,

(Of Iron, heated in the fire),

When this has cooled, it forms a seal,

And tightens round the finished WHEEL.
