Ty walked over, “Ha! Nice shot Jerry, right through the eye.” He said standing over the dead manager’s body.

“No, I didn’t mean to do that it was an accident!” Jerry said defending himself.

“Yo Ty we got a problem, Victor’s been hit in the chest, looks like he ain’t makin it so I guess you’re taking over now.” Said a large black man, Jerry didn’t know. Jerry didn’t know any of the men he was working with except for Ty, and Victor by reputation.

“Alright, tell Wolf to get the explosives out of the van. We got to hurry up because the silent alarm has been tripped. Looks like we’re going to have to blast our way out of here today.” Ty said looking at the vault.

Jerry got to his feet and looked at the carnage around him. All six of the guards were dead, the clerks and manager were dead, and one customer was about to be dead. He was still holding down the silent alarm button, staring helplessly up at Ty. Jerry didn’t watch; he walked over everyone wondering what to do. There’s no turning back now. If there’s a bunch of cops coming I better get another gun. He pried the pistol from the hand of the guard he meant to shoot, and slide it into the back of his pants. He put his own gun back into its holster. Vending machines lined the wall near the entrance to the bank. Jerry took a wallet off one of the hostages and removed a one. A moment later he was sitting on the counter with candy bar in his mouth.

It took two blasts to break the vault open. They used several sticks of C4 to do the job. Cops arrived right before the second. All the hostages breathed a momentary sigh of relief. The burglars breathed a nervous sigh, as if they were about to invade Norway on D-Day. Everyone except for Jerry made barricades by the front doors and set up their machine gun defense to take on the police outside. Two battlefronts were established, separated by thin panes of glass windows and doors. The vault held many treasures for Jerry. Sparkles glimmered in his eyes, and his hand clutched an empty duffel bag. “This time,” He said, “I get away with all I want.” His hand crept forward towards the closest holder of cash, and then a barrage of bullets whizzed in exploding the stacks of money all around him. Jerry dropped to the floor and covered his head. The battle had started. Wasting no time Jerry grabbed all the bundles of money in sight and shoved them in his bag till he could fit no more, and zipped it closed. It’s a good thing I’m a lover not a fighter. He thought as he crawled out of the vault and made his way behind the counters. Using them as shelter was his best option despite all the dead clerks he had to crawl over. Watching what was happening was not his intention, he only wanted to get to that hallway and make it out the back door. The van he decided, he would leave for everyone else, he could just jack a car, besides the van driver was loyal to Victor and Ty. Gunshots were blaring like non-stop firecrackers, as he crawled through the doorway and closed it behind him. The long narrow hall before him was so beautiful. Those guys will keep the cops plenty busy for me to get out of here. He almost burst out into laughter as he ran down the hall, a huge smile across his face. They had left the back door open and he could see the front of the van in the doorway. The sounds of guns behind him became fuzzy and clogged the farther away from it he got. Joy in his heart vaporized into shock when he saw a cop appear in the doorway gun raised. He was right in front of Jerry holding the gun to his chest.

“Freeze! Get your hands in the air!” The cop hollered. Jerry panicked, he didn’t know what to do, flashes of ending up in prison again, his worst fear flashed in his mind, and on instinct he issued a command of his own.
