“I can’t believe it. I can’t fucking believe it!” Jerry yelled, “That old fart is makin off with my money, while I’m stuck up here with two assholes who got guns to my head. Is it even worth it any more?”
“Well,” Artimus spoke up for the first time since the old man had arrived, “money isn’t everything. It’s gone now, so you’re stuck with your life you have to worry about losing.”
“Whatever. Death seems pretty nice now, after all the bullshit I’ve put up with.” Jerry exclaimed.
“Listen guys,” Ty was speaking now, “even though it’s only been three hours. It seems like we’ve been through a lot together. Now I’m a tough guy, I’ll kill anyone, but I know for fact that it gets harder to pull the trigger the longer you look at someone.” Artimus and Jerry knew what he meant. At this point neither of the men wanted to die or even kill the other two. True was this feeling in their hearts. However one problem remained.
“Trust, I guess is what it comes down to at this point.” Ty continued, “I know you guys can’t trust me. Someone who has killed many people in his life had to have lied to kill some of them. And I don’t particularly trust you guys. Cops are known to offer false deals with criminals to get them to cave, and Jerry you tried to flat out ditch us today.”
Inside each man’s mind he was being tortured. To trust the other men in this situation at this moment was almost impossible. All three of them had to trust each of the other two in order for it to work, and at this time trust was non existent. Ty thought to himself. Of all the messes I’ve been in, this is by far the worst. There’s no way those two guys trust me, so the only way I’m making it out of this alive is if I kill them both and that won’t be easy. Looks like it might be the end for me. Shit! I hope Tradeski isn’t waitin to kick my ass once I get down to hell. Ungrateful bastard.
“How are you hanging in there Vic?” Ty asked, squatting down next to his trembling friend. He’d been shot in the lung and was fighting to breathe. It was an unpleasant image to deal with. Through all the pain Victor managed to focus on Ty and with his small amount of strength, he clutched Ty’s ankle to get his attention. His other shaking hand pointed like a gun at his head. Ty got the message, and said his goodbye before ending the suffering for Victor.
When the cops showed up, Ty had already positioned his men in a defensive formation, something he had learned during his brief years in the military. All right Ty, He thought, Time to switch into kill mode. Pulling his duel customized handguns from their holsters he raised one into the air and fired the first shot at the ceiling. On that signal his men unloaded their machine guns in succession onto the unsuspecting cops outside.
Ty waited during the firefight, standing in the back out of harms way, commanding his troops like a general. Everything was going his way; he was winning the battle, until the last cop car showed up, screeching to a halt right in front of the bank. He caught sight of the officer driving for the brief moment he was in view before ducking behind the car. Artimus! What’s he doing here? It doesn’t matter. Today I’ll avenge my brother. A grin crossed Ty’s face and then he caught something out of the corner of his eye.
