The Pilkington Grave Slabs from left the grave of Thomas Pilkington and Mary Vause, middle the grave of James Hope and right the grave of Thomas Pilkington and Betty Pilkington. One grave to the right of this is that of Samuel the elder son, who's daughter married her cousin Thomas, son of the second son by the same name. Betty Predeceased her husband and the succession by bloodline then moved via the female line. Two grave spaces to the right nearest to the footpath is the grave of Thomas Pilkington who's will is dated 1823. Further back, the purple / black marble grave stone shown from side view is that of Robert Andrews of Rivington Hall. From the base of that grave to the footpath are the graves of Isaac and Ann Pilkington, nearest the tree is that of Isaac.
