Golden Moments

It's a simple memory,

Of cloudy days, and wishes,

that come my way.

Of sun-kissed days, with dancing lessons,

Fireplaces burning...

Casting smoke clouds to the sky,

I never stopped to wonder why,

The days of times are passing by,

How do you stop the hands of time,

Memories of coffee perking,

Smell the sweet aroma of bacon frying,

Tilt-awhirls and jack-o-lanterns,

Time keeps marching...marching by,

Graduations, and wedding balls,

Basketball games and Sunday rides in the car,

Still forever marches on, reminds me time continues on,

Yet lazy memories, flash through my head,

Making me yearn for yesterday.
