Title: A Life as Student
Author: Christy Tse
Author's note: Not quite a poem, maybe a hymn. Preparing for the HKCEE really burdened me and my poor friends. I had written this down to somehow soothe my bitterness and encouraged myself to bear it as best as I could. It was dedicated to everyone in my acquaintance who is struggling hard for the dreaded public exam, may all of us get good results!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am studying hard for the certificate exam,
so much to do draw me insane.
School is a living hell,
so much homework make me want to shout out "help!".
¡@
My life is a mess,
all because of Maths.
Does Maths have rules?
I have no clues.
English can be lovely,
but as the new syllabus is not easy,
it is no longer funny.
¡@
Chinese is never my passion,
though it is my mother tongue.
But facing exam questions,
I can do none.
History has causes,
and it is so cute.
It is also difficult,
and the exam questions so acute!
¡@
Chinese History needs so many skills,
studying it nearly has me killed.
In Geography we must read maps,
and it draws me mad.
You cannot pass if you only recite,
no matter how hard you study at night.
¡@
Economics is so far the easiest,
in case you are interested.
Biology, Biology, I have to study it unwillingly.
Spelling those words is the main difficulty.
¡@
I know that I can't be the best,
but I cannot have a moment's rest.
Future dreams are only dreams,
the cruel reality crushes all dreams.
At this moment we can still dream,
but during lessons don't daydream,
or you may find that teachers can scream.
