Chapter 1: An Invitation to Hertfordshire
Michelle Darcy had lived twenty years surrounding with cares and loves of
her family. She was blessed with beauty, wit and fortune. She had an elder
brother, whose cheerful manner made him amiable in everyone¡¦s eyes. She only
in wanted of a best friend, a sister-like friend. As she received an invitation
from Mrs. Scott, one of her aunts, to Hertfordshire, her hope went high. Little
she knew that her own story would start from this trip.
¡§This beautiful blue silk must be very suitable for your daughter, Mrs.
Darcy.¡¨ Said Mr. Morgan, as his customer choosing cloths for her daughter.
¡§So, let me see.¡¨ Elizabeth Darcy pick up the cloth and put it on her
daughter. ¡§Yes, the blue suit you, Michelle.¡¨
¡§Please, Mr. Morgan, I¡¦d want some of this silk for Miss Darcy.¡¨
added Elizabeth to the shop owner.
¡§So, it¡¦s your first time to go out without your father and me to
look after you. But I send Andy to escort you.¡¨ Said Mrs. Darcy, picking up a
bonnet and match it on Michelle¡¦s head.
¡§Not Andy, he¡¦s too attractive.¡¨ Exclaimed Michelle, putting the
bonnet off from her head.
¡§Yes, the Hertfordshire families will like to have him into their
family. If he can learn some of his father unpleasant and less Mr. Bingley¡¦s
friendly manner, he can escape these troubles.¡¨
¡§Papa is not unpleasant¡K¡¨ started Michelle.
¡§And he is the best, is that true, my dear?¡¨ disturbed her mother.
¡§Yes, that¡¦s what I mean, mama. Now, is that suit me, mama?¡¨
¡§Yes, suit you very much, Midge. Tell you on thing, that you will meet
a cousin of your own.¡¨
¡§Who?¡¨ asked Michelle question fully.
¡§Mr. Bingley¡¦s son, you haven¡¦t met him before, have you,
Michelle?¡¨
¡§No, mama. But will him come with us?¡¨
¡§I suppose he will, but I think Mrs. Hurst will miss him a lot. He
lived with her for over ten years.¡¨
The doorbell rang, and two blonde women came into the shop.
¡§Oh! Jane, I am surprise to see you here.¡¨ Cried Elizabeth surprised
to see her eldest sister and her niece.
¡§Well, still well, Michelle?¡¨ asked Jane, after greeting her sister.
¡§Yes, Aunt Jane.¡¨
¡§Are you buying some gowns for Michelle for this season, Lizzy?¡¨ Mrs.
Bingley turned to her sister.
¡§Yes, she¡¦s going to visit Mary, will Grace come?¡¨
¡§She will, and also Jason. But we need to wait for him. He has some
business to attend in London.¡¨
¡§So, Michelle, I can¡¦t go with you.¡¨ Miss Bingley said to her
cousin.
¡§Oh! What a lost, Grace.¡¨
¡§You haven¡¦t seen my brother, have you?¡¨
¡§No, but Andy have.¡¨
¡§You will like him, Michelle. He¡¦s the best among brothers.¡¨
¡§Maybe, Grace.¡¨
