ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Constance Vogel taught high school English and creative writing in Milwaukee and Chicago. Her poetry has been published widely, in Spoon River Poetry Review, River Oak Review, The MacGuffin, Thema, Blue Mesa Review, Blue Unicorn, Willow Review, Afterhours, ELF, Karamu, Ariel, Jean's Journal, The New York Times, the anthologies: Prairie Hearts and Jane's Stories. She has a collection of poetry published by The Lakeview Press named Caged Birds. She has won first prizes in Rambunctious Review annual poetry competitions. She was selected to be a reader in the Poetry Center of Chicago Annual Juried Reading in 2001 and 2004 and in the Gwendolyn Brooks Award. She was nominated by Skylark for a Pushcart Prize. She is a past president of The Poet's Club of Chicago and The Writers.
In addition to writing, her favorite activities are reading and gardening. The mother of two daughters she wrote The Mulberry in memory of her daughter, Mary.
