Tulsa, Oklahoma native, Shelley Nation has been writing and performing poetry in Chicago for nearly twenty years. Her poetry is influenced by childhood experiences surrounded by small town drama. Her work has been published in Growling Softly, and anthology of poetry. She has also been published in Why Vandalism?, Literary Mama, Hammers, and Strong Coffee. She has hosted several poetry venues over the years as well as occassionaly hosting for Wordslingers, a poetry radio show from Loyola University of Chicago. She has been teaching for seventeen years for the Chicago Public School System.
