RUTH LILLY

Ruth Lilly was born in Indianapolis on August 15th, 1915. She was the heiress to the Eli, Lilly, and Company fortune. In 2002 she pledged $100 million dollars in stock to Poetry magazine. Since 1986 The Poetry Foundation has given out the $100,000 Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize.
