REGINA HARRIS BAIOCCHI

Regina Harris Baiocchi is an author and composer. Regina's music has been performed by Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Philharmonic, and the US Army Band. Regina's byline and bio appear in Oxford University Press's Encyclopedia of Black Women in America, AIM Magazine, ESI Anthology, and Technology News. Her poem, "Teeter Totter", received honorable mention in a statewide competition sponsored by Chicago Tribune Magazine. She teaches at Columbia College Chicago. She is listed in the New Grove Dictionary of American Music and the International Dictionary of Black Composers. Regina is author of the novel Indigo Sound. She's also the author of Urban Haiku; Other Selected Poems. In addition, Regina founded and funds an annual Haiku Fest, through which she awards cash prises and hosts a free, public program where Chicago children recite their original poetry.
