DAVID GECIC

David Gecic is the editor-in-cheif of The Puddin'head Press which was founded in 1985. He has hosted hundreds of shows at many venues over the years including: Puddin'head Bookstore, The Gallery Caberet, The Bop Shop, Estelle's, The College of Complexes, and The Oak Park Library. He has run poetry slams for teens at The Oak Park Library, The Alsip Library, The Worth Library, and The Skokie Library. He has been featured many times at all the major venues in the Chicago area.

His work has appeared in Hammer Magazine, Afterhours Magazine, LetterEx, Tunnel Rat and chicagopoetry.com. He has had technical articles about numerous facets of the metal finishing industry published in Canadian Coatings Magazine, Paint and Powder Magazine, and Technical Notes. He has appeared in several anthologies including The Anti-Mensch, The Anti-Mensch II, Urbanations I, Urbanations II, Chicago OnLine, and Best of Chicago Poetry.

He is a member of Neutral Turf, a not-for-profit corporation that has published StarWallpaper, an anthology of young Chicago poets. He was technical director of Red Path Theater, a native American Theater Group in the mid-90's. He was a member of Artists Against Violence Towards Women in the early '90's. He ran a bookstore in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago from 1990 to 1993. He was a Westside Slam Champion at Fitzgeralds in 1989.

He has had one book published Four Star Daydream a collection of poems by four different poets.
