Meet the Speakers

Carol Hamilton

Is a former president of Poetry Society of Oklahoma and was Poet Laureate of Oklahoma 1995-1997. Her twelth book is from Finishing Line Press, Shots On. Recent publications are in Atlanta Review, Southwest American Literature, World Literature Today, Nimrod, Sunstone, Xavier Review and others.

Maria Veres

Has published poetry, fiction and nonfiction in more than forty literary and mainstream magazines. Her first chapbook, Waiting for Miracles, was released last fall. She teaches at Francis Tuttle Technology Center and is a frequent reader at poetry events throughout the Oklahoma City area.

Robert Ferrier

Robert Ferrier’s poems have been published in ten literary journals. His poetry collections, Rhythms and Ambient Light, each won Best Book of Poetry trophies from the Oklahoma Writers Federation. A native of Hugo, Robert was a nominee for 2007 Oklahoma Poet Laureate.

Clark Elliott

Poetry has been a part of Clark since childhood. His sense of humor has evolved into many poems that have won awards. His poem 20-20 won first place in the NPSPS National contest in 2006. He was named Poet Laureate of PSO in 2003. After retiring as Vice President of Marketing of local insurance co he found time to publish two poetry books, Reflections of My Heart and Reflections of Life. He is a charter member of Windmill Poets.
