PSO CONTEST SPONSORSHIP FORM                                         2009

 

This form may be submitted along with dues to the Membership Coordinator, or given to the Treasurer or to the President. The 1st Vice-President will collect all of them and publish them in the yearbook.

 

Members and friends of the POETRY SOCIETY of OKLAHOMA sponsor our contests.

 

If you desire to sponsor a contest, please fill out the following form and mail it to the Membership Coordinator, along with the total prize money you have designated by check or money order.  This entry will appear in the Membership Yearbook for 2009. Since the 1st Vice President will begin working on the Yearbook after the PSO elections, it will be helpful to send your sponsorship early.  Sponsorships must be received no later than January 20, 2009.

BECOME A 2009 OKLAHOMA LORE YOUTH CONTEST PATRON

Be an Oklahoma Lore Youth Contest Patron:  We sponsor no more worthwhile cause than The PSO Oklahoma Lore Statewide Youth Poetry Contest.  PSO offers 12 categories, grades 1-12.  1st grade  - Raccoon; 2nd grade  - Collared Lizard Mountain Boomer; 3rd Grade  - Rose Rock; 4th Grade  - Butterfly; 5th Grade  - Scissor-tail Flycatcher; 6th grade  - Oklahoma Rose, State Flower; 7th Grade - Mistletoe, Floral Emblem; 8th Grade - Oklahoma Flag; 9th Grade  - Oklahoma Tree; 10th Grade  - Red Earth; 11th Grade - Musical Instrument and 12th Grade  - Will Rogers.

 

A sponsorship fee of $50.00 covers 1st, 2nd, and 3rd PL money prizes for one grade, plus $3.00 to help with postage and expenses.  Since expenses to conduct this worthwhile project far exceed this amount, contributions are needed and will help with mailing expenses and refreshment costs.  Also, members donate new stuffed animals for a drawing at the celebration.  Animals may be dropped off at PSO meetings all year.
