Turnabout is Fair Play
Summary: {I/K} WIP. A mysterious force has seen fit to meddle with Kagome and Inuyasha. Kagome finds herself in her hanyou's position when she finds out what exactly it's like to be under a subdoing spell of someone else's control.Fog was beginning to collect on the mirror.
Her finger rose, trembling violently to her side to gingerly touch the dark crimson mark now covering the small scar. She flinched involuntarily at the slightly raised flesh, her mouth moving soundlessly as she looked away from the mirror and down to the curve of her hip. Heat seemed to radiate from the mark, growing stronger as her fingertip traced over the precise lines until her entire body was throbbing. Chaotic questions tumbled through her mind so quickly they made her dizzy.
How had it happened? Who was that old man and how had he know? And how in the world had it been infused with magic so strong it made her tremble? More importantly, what was the magic for? What would it do?
Her eyes rose again to her reflection when all those questions melted away to be replaced with the one that concerned her the most. How in all the seven hells am I going to explain this if anyone finds out?
Biting her lip, she turned to give herself a perfect unobstructed view of her hip, her fingers again tracing the blood-red marking. The kanji was precise, ancient, flawless...
Inuyasha.

This Mess We're In
Summary: {S/K} WIP. Kagome's back in the present, and she's about to meet a guy named Sesshou. What happened in Sengoku Jidai? Neither of them know. A story with past and present interwoven.Sesshoumaru felt a tingle of surprise at her continuing silence. It seemed that in all the previous encounters they had had, she had been unbearably loquacious. Had she fainted?
The human continued to lie there, inert. He sniffed the air, but could not detect any sickness or serious injuries on her, besides a faint tinge of blood. Her scent was healthy; warm, sweet and spicy. Her open eyes lacked the glassy shine that indicated unconsciousness.
Was the girl actually trying to play dead?
He nudged her with his shoe in disbelief and pointedly cleared his throat.
"Well?" he repeated, in a tone of voice that suggested he was speaking to a child. A very stupid, recalcitrant child.
Excellent, Kagome thought. Her continued silence was provoking impatience, the first step onto the boredom train.
Or, she realized, the first step to getting herself melted into a puddle of green goo. Oops.

Enchanted Orbs
Summary: {S/K} Kagome is strong and a human female. Who could better serve as a spy for the Western Lord? But soon she gets swept into an impending war between the cardinal lands.
Notes: a bit simplistic in her approach to characters and a somewhat cliche beginning sequence, but the story quickly picks up in quality as you advance past the beginning set-up, and the characters continue to grow in depth and personality.“My patience wears thin sorcerer. Show yourself and spare your life. Answer me.” His voice was flat, but somehow the obvious threat rang clear.
As he said this, Kagome’s illusionary kitsune magician appeared a few feet in front of her. She spoke through the image as she made her plea. Her voice much lower, she replied, “Your request is very generous; however, I need time to consider this proposition. Although my life is in your hands, I do not willingly give my power without due consideration.” Kagome’s heart stopped as she watched his reaction. Was he going to kill her now, or would he allow her the time she needed to think of a way out of this situation? Fear gripped her.
“Your power is too great to be ignored. You have three days to consider your choice. Do not be ignorant of the fact that, though I may desire to have your power at my disposal, I will not hesitate to kill you to prevent that power from being used against me by the other lords. I will return in three days. Should you attempt escape, and I will hunt you to your death.” With that, he left the spring. Kagome released a long sigh. ‘That went well.’

Puppies
Summary: {one-shot. humor} crackfic. Rin is bad. There were things Inuyasha, as a worldly little half-demon, was used to seeing.
A frazzled Sesshoumaru was not one of them.
"She's drunk," rasped Inuyasha, then promptly tittered, poking the dirty little human twirling before him.
"She most certainly is not!" snapped Jaken, rattling his muddied staff. "She's just... happy. Happy that Sesshoumaru-sama has graced her with his presence this day!"
Inuyasha wiped away a tear, plopping to the ground and flicking an insolent claw in Sesshoumaru's general direction. "Did he grace her with sake, too? 'Cause she reeks of it."
Sesshoumaru slunk out of the shadows with quiet grace, fixing Inuyasha with a harrowed scowl.
Inuyasha instinctively narrowed his eyes, then keeled over, giggling.

Summary: drabbles. Because characters need depth. For them she tries, ignoring the ache behind her ribs just by the spine, that empty bit ripped away and stolen. She feels it somewhere out there wandering, always moving with a restlessness unseemly in the dead. When she’s alone she lets the empty place tug her eyes towards that last piece. If she squints her eyes behind her bangs she imagines she can see her other self.
Bandaging someone’s arm, picking flowers with a child, stealing some dead girl’s soul.
She wonders, as she rides behind her friends, if her previous incarnation cares what she’s doing. This careless toying with other’s destinies, stopping the souls from growing into their next lives. There will be no karmic justice meted out to these women; they just cease to exist.
But she is supposed to be whole, not wondering if in the next turn of the wheel her reincarnation will be forced to pay for what that one piece of soul had done. So she smiles and pretends that she knows what she’s talking about when she tells them that everything will come out alright.

Her gasp had him focusing his full attention upon her once more. Her eyes were wide, the features of her face drawn into an expression that he could only interpret as...worried?
“I’m sorry.” Her tone was distressed. “I didn’t realize.”
Realize what?
“I didn’t mean to put you in danger.”
He blinked. He had no idea what path her mind had jumped onto now. Following her thoughts was like trying to capture air. Only worse.
“I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to figure it out.”
He wished she would share her conclusions.
Jewels on Water
Summary: [YYH crossover, Kurama/Kagome] WIP. It began in the Sengoku Jidai. And it was only one night but, in that one night, an infamous youkai thief discovered something he wanted but could not steal - a woman's heart. What to decide? To abandon the prize in his grasp that he had gone through so much trouble to obtain in the first place for the risk of the unknown? Or refuse the challenge she presented which might or might not gain him a greater prize? He debated for a moment but, in the end -
It was an easy decision.
“I accept,” he pronounced and placed the object back on the pedestal.
He’d never really wanted it anyway.
“And you won’t try to come back later and steal it away again?” she prodded.
He glanced back at the ugly thing. “I can promise that.”

Replaced Bride
Summary: {Sess/Kag, Inuyasha/Sango} WIP. The bride disappeared a week before the wedding. The father of the groom was dying. Anyone else would have called the entire thing off... but they wanted to find a replacement.“We need you to get out of this house,” he explained simply. She immediately glared, remembering now their conversation in the study earlier.
“I really don’t want to marry you,” she informed him.
“I know.”
“I’d rather marry a pig.”
“I know.”
“Sango and Inuyasha are going to have a blissful life compared to you and I.”
“I know.”
“You’re a lot nicer when I’m drunk.”
He stared at her. She interpreted his impassive face as a ‘Where-the-hell-did-that-come-from’ look.
“Well, I don’t remember anything.”

The Phoenix Blade: Time Lapse
Summary: {I/K} WIP. AU. Kagome Higurashi, recent graduate of the Imperial Military Academy, finds all of her skills seriously tested when the Shikon Jewel summons her to the Sengoku Jidai.Disbelieving, and not half sure that the hanyou wasn’t pulling her leg, Kagome did as she was told. In her best Imperial-Parade-Ground voice, she barked, “Fenikkusuken! Come!”…and nearly dropped the scabbard when it pulsed.
“What in the hell kind of lame-ass name is that!”
“Yeah, well, I sure didn’t name it…and I’m not even sure I can spell it, either. Fenikkusuken, come!” Kagome watched, dumbfounded, as a silver bolt shot up out of the river, then turned to streak towards her. She squeezed her eyes shut, bracing for impact, but then felt the blade enter the sheath gently and sleekly. She remembered to breathe, and looked down in amazement at the sword’s hilt gleaming innocently in her hand.
“That, wench, is a true demon weapon. I want to know why it accepts you as master?”
She smirked at him. “I dunno. I must have a talent for it. What else can you think of in the near vicinity that is silver, demonic and obeys me?”
His face was a picture. She didn’t even give him a chance to retort.
“Sit, asshole.”
