Thursdays...
Summary: A short look at the morning habits of three SOLDIERS. Or, two SOLDIERS and a trooper.
5:53. He craned across the room to see the mirror and winced when he realized he had bed-head. After patting it a few times though, he decided it didn’t look much different from his normal ‘do. Besides, it was much easier to handle than Zack’s mop.
A minor urban legend among some of the SOLDIER’s was that Zack had once gone about for five days with a comb stuck in his hair simply because he had started to brush his hair, gotten it deeply entangled and never bothered to take it out. Some even vowed that it was still in there, behind his left shoulder and near the small of his back.
When he asked Zack about whether it was true or not, Zack had nodded, shrugged and said he had indeed gotten it out and had, in fact, managed to drop the unfortunate item in a cup of coffee he made for Seph while working late, startling the bejesus out of him.
It was probably not the truth but Cloud had never completely ruled it out.

A Long, Hard Road
Summary: {Epic length. AU continuence. S/C} Five years after the end of the game, Hojo is in an all-out war against the Planet and the ShinRa armies, led by now-general Cloud Strife. What will happen, when ShinRa makes a desperate decision to resurrect the very person who nearly killed them all?
He watched Barret’s face cloud over with confusion, and saw the exact moment that the realization struck, watched his eyes go wide, first with fear, and then with incredible anger.
          "No."
Cid nodded once, taking a long drag on his cigarette.
"The war... the government thinks... They think he was sane, before everything that happened... and they think... this might be our only chance. They say he was the greatest General that ever lived, that he was superhuman. I saw him fight once... and I... I don’t know..."
"Fuck no." Barret shook his head, growling at the floor. "Stupid goddamned ShinRa, still manipulating things as they see fit, can’t remember the past, don’t care about the future..."
"I know... I know..." Cid shook his head, tension making the grooves in his face crack like a broken plate. "No one is happy about this. No one. But we’re there, Barret. ShinRa won’t say anything, of course, but we are right at the edge of losing everything. This is a gamble...everyone knows... but it looks like we don’t have a choice anymore. If we can bring him back..."

Fusion
Summary: {S/C} WIP. Cloud Strife finds it hard to deal with what he had to do to save his world, but now the Planet will give him a chance to change things; for himself and for General Sephiroth.
Cloud's eyes widened as his head snapped up. "The what?" He mentally calculated. Six months to go until Nibelheim, and I had three months before it to mope over not getting in. Three months. Three months to go until the Exams. The SEE. Oh my God.
"The SOLDIER Entrance Exams." Zack provided this, gazing at Cloud oddly. "Why?"
"I just had a thought," Cloud admitted truthfully. Inside, this thought grew and expanded until he was almost bouncing up and down for joy.
Sephiroth would never listen to a cadet about Nibelheim. But he might listen to a SOLDIER.
A minute ago, he had been cursing his stupidity at using skills he shouldn't know. Now, he was praising it.
I never got this attention before, and attention is what I need to change stuff, right?
I think I know what I got sent back for.

Those That Drown
Summary: *Yaoi* *Mature Themes* SephirothxCloud. Dark. Strange
Cloud finally managed to push the man's face away from his own and turn his face to the side. Shame guilt and fear suddenly making themselves known. He shivered as those eyes searched out his questioningly.
“Come now. Why must to delay the inevitable?” the man hovered his mouth over the right side of Cloud’s face, lips grazing his right earlobe as he spoke. “You know I will have you.”
Pressing himself further into the mattress Cloud left out a bitter laugh and nodded. “Yes yes, of course you will.” He breath left him as a sob. “But don’t act like you care. Please don’t… don’t lie to me anymore…” And the unspoken plea for the man to assure him that he didn’t care was left hanging in that moment. A silence that stretched out beyond any space of time before being shattered suddenly with the man's sudden, eerie chuckle.
“Don’t be stupid Strife. Of course I love you.”
         The world crumbled.

Chi to Ase to Namida
Summary: {pre-game AU, YAOI, C/S} What happened before Nibelhiem?
Sephiroth studied the scene carefully. There was the familiar figure of Zack in his normal fighting stance, with the Buster Sword at the ready. And there…
Sephiroth had never been so surprised in his life. The boy’s blond hair was as unruly as Zack’s, but even though his mind informed him that this was a fourteen-year-old boy, his eyes didn’t believe it. His, quite remarkable, actually, blue eyes were far too serious, too focused, and his body was so well built! Height wise, he was pretty short, and despite how well muscled he was, he had bird-like bones, and that was sort of childlike, as was the size of his huge eyes, but there was an air of maturity beyond his years, of tightly leashed power, of rigidly controlled anger…
Maybe he was sort of a child in body, with his height, and proportions. But in soul…
No, this was definitely not a child.

All You Can Know
Summary: {Post-game sequel to Chi to Ase to Namida. S/C} Cloud struggles to remember and must learn to deal.
Cloud snaked an arm out to reach behind him. “Shut up and come here,” he mumbled. A weight settled on the bed behind him, and he sighed as strong arms looped around him. “Better.”
A soft laugh. “Sleep, Cloud. Time enough for talk later; for now, just rest. You deserve it.”
          “Mmmnnn, Seph…”

Cloud jerked awake faster than he’d ever done so in his admittedly unreliable memory. Had he really just dreamed he was in bed with Sephiroth? He looked around himself. He found to his surprise and vague unease that he was sleeping distinctly on one side of the bed, leaving room for another body to slip in behind him. Exactly as he’d lain in the dream. Maybe the dream had prompted him to take that position?
Maybe that position had prompted the dream.

Cloud shivered as a thought occurred to him.

This Army Life
Summary: {humor} All is not quiet on the Wutai front, as Sephiroth and Zack do everything possible to screw off and not run a war.
Zack looked out the tent flap. "He really wants out of here, doesn't he? Why don't you have him sent to guard duty somewhere the war isn't?"
"Because I don't like him enough to send him to Costa del Sol, I don't hate him enough to send him to Midgar, and having him around makes me feel infinitely better when the new recruits show up. Here's the latest battle plan."
Zack pulled a chair up to the desk. "What's Shinra having us do now?"
"He wants a lightning strike at the eastern front."
"Straight through the marshes. Great. We'll be as quick as snails." Zack leaned back. "I guess no one told him that the marshes are filled monsters."
"No. And no one told him that there isn't an eastern front. Wutai certainly isn't in there. Not that I blame them."
"So what? We wait a few days and send a report back of our glorious victory?"
Sephiroth rolled up the map. "Sounds good to me."

Untitled 5
Summary: {Post game futurefic. S/C.} WIP. A magical attack leaves Cloud without his memories. Now he no longer remembers what it is to be General, what it means to be powerful, and all he has become these past years. Now he no longer remembers Sephiroth.
He wasn't sure what he had been expecting as a reaction to that, but it certainly wasn't what he received.
"I... see." Cloud's voice sounded oddly dead, and for a moment Sephiroth's mind flashed with worry.

He doesn't believe it...
The thought was confirmed somewhat by the intense study Cloud was giving to his hands. They didn't look like those of a forty five year old, and of course Cloud had no real reason to suspect that, like Sephiroth, he too no longer aged.

... it won't even enter your mind, that you made it to SOLDIER... let alone beyond...
The doctor gave her finishing speech, and Cloud didn't even react when she mentioned he would be sent home. He was still turning his hands over and over, as if disbelieving they could possibly be his. Or perhaps trying somehow to disprove the situation by believing that they were.
It wasn't until the doctor touched him lightly on the arm that he realised he had been staring, and that they should be leaving to allow Cloud some privacy while changing. That thought alone brought with it a hint of hysteria, that Cloud's privacy now explicitly excluded him.
Sephiroth followed the doctor out, but not before glancing behind at Cloud once more. He hadn't moved.
