The horse and rider crossed the ridge with caution.
The steed's nostrils flared at the scent of water below.
Snorting and bowing its head in the direction of the source,
the animal whinnied to its master.
The rider, nodded, patted its neck,
then nudged the horse into the valley's perimeter path.
They circled into the ancient quarry below.
Dismounting at the edge of the pond,
she allowed her horse to drink a little at a time,
so as not to overload its system.
Once it began to feed on the nearby grass,
she stepped to an unmuddied area by the inlet stream
to slake her thirst.
You are welcome to restore yourselves here,
in this protected glade. Enjoy the coolness of the shade,
before your journey presses you to move on.

What I Can Do For You
The Hubble Observatory's Space Telescope has a mirror
that concentrates cosmic light very clearly,
Allowing us to see into the awesome depths of space,
perhaps reaching back to the beginning of time.
Outside of the earth’s atmosphere of our usual life,
the Hubble telescope opens to us the clearest picture
of what really is “out there.”
In the poetry mirror that I create for you,
it's my intention to look deeply
with you, and, within you,
to reflect the Universe of Who You Are:
that ever-creating, transforming person,
free and clear from fear.
The ability to look deeply resides within you.
I'm a little like the shuttle astronaut, with repair parts
for the Hubble telescope of your soul.
My special skills for focusing the lens of your heart
permit you to see clearly what you instinctively know
is at the heart of your Universe: stunning beauty.
With your permission,
I look with you into that awesome place
beyond time and space,
and celebrate the living wonder of who you are.
These works are like living star charts
of your soul for you to enjoy.
They are rich with meanings for you personally,
that unfold with each new reading.
You know that picture of Adam pointing at God,
and God pointing at Adam?
Imagine if the two fingers touched.
That is where I create my work!
I do this with what I call “soul mirroring” poetry.
I have written poetry for over 30 years.
Bringing it to the internet took about 4 years.
