I have created this page on Lupus as a dedication to my sister, Marianne.
It is also dedicated to anyone else that is suffering from this disease

It's been over ten years ago
since we heard of her diagnosis.
We sat there in amazement
as we listened to her doctor's prognosis.

Lupus is a chronic disease
that defies easy description.
It isn't something that will go away
with the writing of some prescription.

I've been there as my sister tried to describe
the pain she feels each day
"I wonder if people think this is all in my head"
is what she would sometimes say.

I admire her for the way she handles this
because I'm sure it isn't easy to bare.
I often wonder why she has to be sick
for to me it all seems so unfair.

Lupus seems to be some kind of mystery
and as of right now there isn't a cure,
But I know that Marianne is a fighter
and with her strength, I know that this too she will endure.
