In the sunset shadows played
With dusky colors of receeding day
As the salty winds carried your sigh
And we reminisced of our times gone by

On the sand we sat together
Sharing memories that last forever
And beneath the sun's dying rays
I looked at you and remembered
Another time, a different place

I heard your laugh and felt your smile
Saw that spark of joy in your eyes
I caught the glance I once knew so well
Remembering secrets we would never tell

But soon the moment ended
Too quickly had it passed
So many changes had time rendered
We cannot live in the past

But I will always remember that day
And your laughter and your ways
'Neath the sunset where shadows played
In that time, in that place
