The Walrus Convention
Howdy. By whatever means, it is apparent that you have stumbled across the path of The Walrus Convention, be it through word of mouth, one of our campaigns, etc.
Probably, I should not even be using the pronoun "our" at this point in time, for The Walrus Convention is a brainchild by myself, Richard Platypus, and I did not intend to actually undertake it for a few more years. So take heed that this website is not finished, and actually has not even begun.
So here I present you with The Walrus Convention, in all (yet none) of its glory.

Manifesto
The Walrus Convention is a collective of radical minds and unique personalities who passionately involve themselves in political activism and artistic pursuits.
We recognize that humanity, as a species, does little to benefit the world at large, and much to worsen it (causing extinction of other species, environmental devastation, etc.).
Selfish humanity also does much harm to its own members through such tragedies as war and terrorism, fascist regimes, the near enslavement of much of the third world, and even on a purely social level there is so much jealousy, contempt and competition just in simple interactions.
It seems that the only beneficial aspect of humanity is its unparalleled capacity for creativity. Through painting, poetry, music, dance, film, theater and much more, humans may nearly make up for their desctruction.
And so we recognize that the individual must thrive, so that one can participate in an unrestrained and open-minded exchange of ideas (intellectually and artistically),
so that one can be at peace with their soul, their position and contribution to the world society, and with the universe and whatever higher force one may or may not believe in,
so that one is able to do good for the world, and develops a reverence for the life of all fellow humans, animals, plants, and hell even rocks.
We realize, however, that humans as a group transcend the awe of the individual such that the human race as a whole acts very stupidly, malignantly, and self-destructively.
And so, by stressing the importance of the individual, we hope that the compassion and enlightenment of each individual will bridle the mob psychology of our mainstream culture that is so entrenched with consumerism, capitalism, greed, and all their woeful consequences.
And so we endeavor to create and proliferate
art,
which shall hold truths, beauties, passions, and assorted trippiness
and we endeavor to put a shock to the ever-escalating, ever-trite consumer culture
by initiating projects and campaigns spread over grassroots and through the grapevine all across the nation,
and carried out by voluntees who are headstrong, irreverent, idealistic skeptics.

If You Would Like To Support Us
--Express Interest-- If you like what you see, give an email, I'm DaPlatypusCBB13@aol.com. If general interest in this collective increases then my effort towards it will increase accordingly. If you would like me to add you to the mailing list, just tell me.

--Do Stuff-- Whenever I conceive of some brilliant brainchild or another, I will post it on the website and send an email out to everybody who has asked me to put them on the mailing list. These Walrus Convention Campaigns will generally be things that anyone can do, and if a lot of people do them, it'll make a difference. As an activist, always know this: You make the difference. If you are willing to sacrifice something for a larger cause, other people will be so willing and will follow your example.

--Spread the Word-- Tell your people. If you really dig this, send an email to a bunch of your more radical-minded acquaintances right now and give them a link to this website.

--Recommended Reading-- I'll give you two books to go check out right now. One, a novel by Laurie Foos, is the direct reason behind the name of this collective-- Portrait of the Walrus by a Young Artist.
The second book is more political, written by professor and Green Party activist Joel Kovel. Do read: The Enemy of Nature.
And of course, if you wish, you can check out my poetry. I don't mean to use this project to promote my own means, but I don't have much to give you right now
