Socialist Newspapers At the peace rallies
you get to hear some opinions
some propaganda too
shout some chants
voice dissent
feel hearty
get involved
and get innumerable flyers
for causes, events
and, of course, countless socialist newspapers
Workers World, Workers Vanguard, The Militant...
so many socialist newspapers
and organizations
in this city, this nation
I ask why can’t they unite?
I’m told Well, some are reformists
want to use political pressure
to sterilize capitalism
whereas the revolutionist socialist groups
want a full-scale workers’ revolution they don’t want no pussyfooting socialists

So the Marxists and Trotskyites and Leninists and
leftists and environmentalists and socialists and communists and Sparticists and the ISO
Bicker
over the means to a better society.
But How you gonna get anything done
arguing?
How does the status quo feel pressured
if they know
socialists can’t get their shit together?
How we gonna have a revolution
if the only battle we fight
is amongst ourselves?
I say revolutionaries of the world unite
to pressure the establishment
and stir up a revolution at the same time
cuz it’s not as good to have one without the other
it’s not good to fight without each other
