Sanity has been ripped
away from me like submerged
swimmerlimbs in Amityville seascape,
by mutant unicorns, whose lonely
horn is transplanted upon their back,
wave-blade attacks
stability, no neural equilibrium

but intangible sanity
can’t be clutched by jaws
no matter how awesome or prickly
the razors, I feel
that its essence has
more likely ascended, drifted
away like a helium balloon
whose waiflike atomic mass necessitates
eternal resurrection, the direction
up like Babel, not even God’s mighty
fist
could bat down
the rabble, the whacked mole
pops up,
like sanity’s opposite composite
of freedom rage and eccentric electricity
materializes, insanely, like hidden Jekyll
within sanity there lies
insanity surfaces from
within my spongy hide, my
porous skin unearthing this
fallacious epidermal crust

or maybe
like the ocean salt, soluble sanity
has dissolved, become a cloud, and
my psychology can only be solved
by paying more attention in chemistry class;
my head, the stately office building
that houses my thinktank
has revolving doors for eyes, ears
nostrils, mouth and what comes in
comes out, except the criminal cogs who cut
throats with white collars
who seize my seizuring
brain and make it

Businessmen and criminals enter my
brain, don’t do no good to
feign, they’re feeding on my
pain coming into my
brain converge upon my
mind ransack what they
find, manipulate and
unwind all my chemical rinds, everybody’s
got a wedge to pry
open my head, the bugs slip
under the edge they lay
so many eggs, a foreign agent
landed upon my cerebral
cortex, all the world has
banded against my
schizophrenic vortex
they rape my mind with semantics they turn my brain to latex the CIA must’ve planned it they’ll hospitalize me in Texas
my cranium’s uncapped all my thoughts are tapped my sanity’s been zapped by an extraterrestrial satrap
I’ll talk to my inner child, you tell
my id it’s too wild, your persona
is trite and mild
I refuse to be filed, my soul
wafts through the horde, clinging
