by my closest friends,
those distant to me,
and those resentful to me alike
that, well, I'm crazy
"Richie, you're the craziest person I've ever met"
"Richie, you are one of a kind"
"You freak! Get away from me!"
"Richie, you're fuckin' insane."
Whether or not they mean it as a compliment,
I take it that way
I'm glad I bask in uniquity
so I laugh my laugh, and smile in pride.

But sometimes, when they tell me I'm insane
I say, "so far as sanity is relative, I've completely lost it"
and I'm thinking
if only people knew
sanity isn't relative
I'm sane, cuz I'm happy as myself
and will be impactful upon our world
. Just cuz I see things differently
think differently
and act like a madman who ought to be straitjacketed every now and then
that doesn't mean I'm insane
I don't have any problems with myself
it's our dying world that's crazy
