Possession is a volatile state
unless the possession is possessed by the possessor
and object can be physically held
deprived of its free will
but will its will one day take action
it can run away
free of indenture to you.

Your clothes, your cars, your house
your money
can do this if empowered
if they have no wish
to be yours.

But what if you addict?
when letting a love go
if the love does too so love
it will not go.
When a junkie is withdrawn
it is only by sheer and mighty amassment of willpower
that it keep from returning to the possessor,
because when
every minute’s thought is consumed by your drug
and every beat of your heart is obsessed by your love
you are possessed by
hopelessly addicted to
your fix
you can not leave it
and if let go
you are able to do nothing but return,
despairing for more again for you are a possession
with no will
but to be possessed
and object of conquest
belonging to your possessor.
