Independent Branch A majestic branch
Very thin, jutting out of a grand tree
20 leaves on the branch
green as green can be
darkened by the night
but illuminated by the moonlight
it stands tall
though it is so thin and frail
it may not be grand like its tree
it may be biologically dependent on the tree
but though it is humble
and has no delusions of grandeur it knows what it is
it stands proud
seemingly independent of its tree
and so majestic
so much more beautiful than its tree
