Hazy Kazoo
Hazy kazoos buzz across Zimmerman
plucky looms and flimmering flooms
lyres set afire by Morrison the Merman,
mangy and murderous with a pot belly anew
so few have felt the wrath that is thrown unto the path
less-traveled,
life unravels not into ilks of silk,
but rather frost
lost now that we know the cost of age,
bitter rage of lemon-drenched potatoes
limes in cokes and dirty jokes of
ordinary madness and impotence
jissom that eventuates only from pills,
scraggly miners dump crystals into Niagara Falls,
wisdom’s answers comes with cancer’s ills,
timely wrinkles from one’s cheeks to pecs to balls,
wears nothing but hospital overalls,
so breezy on the back
and hairy untouched asscrack
in the nursing home hang yourself by a payphone
under communal paralytic fluorescent lights,
corpse is overrun with pinochle worms and long-forgotten stomach cramps
and by wheelchairs with catatonically demonic victims at helm sick with road rage
and when plants melt down
the lights go out
