its sight captures the coup

as chickens run from their coops
strangled by their white collars
and unquenchable thirst for dollars;
they lay eggs no more
Caracas! debilitated
punctured by the almighty phallus
ever defiant of equality
ever striving to compete, to conquer
to cause interminable growth
and sprout trees to be turned to green paper
Caracas! resist the resisters!
they are not revolutionaries, not pardos!
they hold not your interests at heart!
they are but wealthy white business elites
who refuse to share their hoarded wealth with you,
o militant Chavistas, progressive populists,
do resist the realm of global capitalism!
