There is the nest put in the cactus like a tree house, enclosed. The parent is coming home, the parent bird is coming home with something in its beak, something pink and oblong, possibly a gecko for lunch. The parent flies over the nest because I am too close. A bird tactic. The parent flies into the palm tree's skirt.
In Texas, the wren is dead. The nest is empty. No more wrens. Except in the store that sells the little imitation marble ones, with the boat hull beaks. They are sold along with nests that feel like fuzz. Think no one will notice?
In Arizona, hawk in the backyard. Hawk on the backyard fence, hawk on the red fence in the backyard, looking for the little sparrows with red plumage on their necks. A lot of them nest in the evergreens, which are in the park across Glenn. There are invisible nests there. I have heard of them.
A dead dove somewhere sniffed by my dog. A yellow bird smooshed by a car. It's been tough for the birds. There are many of them about. The turnover rate, though there is no office.
