A Parents Prayer

My Dear Heavenly Father
Please help my precious child to understand
that a parent's heart always knows.
We know of the unspoken pains and burdens
no matter how hard they try to not show
We try so hard to honor their privacy
and stand aside and let them go
but our worry they can not spare
because a parents heart always knows
We try not to question your knowledge
it's just that we deal poorly with none.
We were able to love and nurture
while they were still young
To be shut out in times of trouble
is more than we can bear
All we ask is that their life
with us they always share
Just because they are now a parent
does not mean our job is done
Their parent we will always be
until time is gone

Thank you all so much for your time in reading this .
I really wrote this for the kids that keep vital info
from their parents because of
"I didn't want to worry you"
They need to know that parents have this inner radar
that alerts them
when things are not right with their children
and their silence
does not save pain and worry because a
parent's heart knows.
I would like to suggest
that you send it to your children so hopefully
one day that God forbid
your child should face a life threatening
condition will not hold back the info from you,
their parent and
you
face and try to cope with
all the unknowns that goes with keeping secrets....
