                                                                                                                  * The Lighthouse*

I Have sailed upon a thousand haunted seas,
And anchored kindly in harbors serene,
I have gazed humbly at the countless stars,
And defied the fury of the relentless storm.

I have known love, and dreams have conquered,
Where a seaman's dreams lead, love dares not follow,
I have hungered for the sail, now for the fireside I long,
I bid farewell to this sea of dreams I have called my home.

By greater circumstances, my bearings have wavered,
Though I once sailed at ease with the wind at my favor,
Fair winds have carried me on wings of ivory crisp sails,
Braving only to suffer the fate of this raging storm.

Now I plead to the horizon, reveal me a vision of favor,
Lest the tempest sea arise, and rend her misfortune,
Through the storm's peril, I beseech the darkness of night,
To grant this weary ship passage, by way of the light.

Though many tides I have mastered, I drift hopelessly wayward,
I look for the lighthouse to deliver this vessel like a legion of angels,
From a beacon on high, I seek my only hope for salvation,
From the battering sea, I pray, might I savor sweet redemption

The sea has wrought vengeance and troubled this journey,
I have wished only to sail on wings of freedom on my quest for the horizon,
But I sail now this voyage against the might of the wind,
So sweet is the hour that shall see me home again.

Contrary the course fate would bid me to follow,
My sails become inspired by winds stirred by hands of the master,
In the night-watch I seek the horizon, and behold the lighthouse,
That shall see me safely through this perilous night.

On this sea worn ship, the Lord sets his desire,
Reaching through the darkness for souls of the righteous,
Though the voice of thunder and lightning be nigh in the heavens,
In his hand rests a cup, from which he pours forth fair waters.

Through a veil of haze a gleam bursts forth on the horizon,
Behold a vision of  the Lord, glorious light of salvation ,
Shining in all it's glory, for at last the savior has come,
The lighthouse will guide this ship of Heaven safely
To rest on Heaven's shore forever.
