My Father's Will

I thought I did my father's will
When I died upon that cross,
I had to drag it on my own
To free the world from loss.

As I was hanging from that tree
You came across my mind,
I could even feel those teardrops
From heartaches over time.

You thought I did not care for you
You turned and walked away,
But little did you know, my friend
I grieved for you that day.

I died that you may live
And have your sins set free,
But yet you will not listen
You still walk from me.

I am coming back real soon
It won't be very long
And I am willing to forgive,
The things that you did wrong.

Won't you take the time to listen
As I call upon your heart?
Don't wait too long to let me in,
For I have done my part.
