CHAPTER 6

CHAPTER 6

“Here you go,” the bartender said dropping two Slow Comfortable shots of Screw on the counter. As he turned away, Sadie saw him toss a sly and knowing wink at JC. She saw JC retaliate with a devilish grin. She calmed her palpitating heart.

Time to play.

“You know,” she said, sliding her fingertip over the rim of her shot glass, “I’ve never actually HAD a slow comfortable screw before…” She let her eyes flicker up, looking for his reaction.

He raised a perfect eyebrow.

“You haven’t?” he questioned.

His tone was an interesting mix of disbelief, skepticism and surprise.

Sadie shook her head.

“Never,” she said, batting innocent eyelashes, “And…I don’t really know…how I’m supposed to…you know… DO it…”

Feeling ballsy and slightly intoxicated, Sadie dared to press the semi-sticky fingertips that had been circling her glass on that beautiful, delicate hand.

“Will you show me Josh?” she asked, running her tongue over her lips and stroking his hand, “Will you show me how to take one…up against the wall?”

She suppressed a smile as she watched his eyes visibly darken.

“Be careful what you ask for baby girl…” he said. His voice had that slightly growly-raspy edge to it. The one that ALWAYS turned her on when he sang. She shuddered.

“I’m just asking for HELP Josh,” she managed. She even threw in some flirty exasperation for good measure, “But if you don’t wanna show me, I’ll do it on my own…”

She went to raise her glass to her lips.

His hand grabbed her arm.

“You can’t do a slow comfortable screw on your own,” he said, eyes glittering, “It’s against the rules.”

With that, he picked up both glasses and pulled her from the bar stool.

In the next breath, he had her up against the wall.

She swallowed.

“A toast,” he declared, “Before we…drink…”

His eyes bore into her. One hand held the shot glass. The other was splayed only inches from the side of her neck. His left hip pinned her in place and he handed her a drink.

“To the slow comfortable screw,” he murmured, grinning.

Sadie’s glass trembled as she raised it.

“To the slow comfortable screw,” she whispered.

They clinked.
