Chapter 1
The hour was going by very slowly. The guys really wanted to get to the hotel, it had been a long night and they all wanted one thing: sleep. But the only ones who didn’t want sleep were Elise and Justin. They were in the bunkroom fooling around.
"Justin…" She giggled as he tickled her. "Stop…"
Then there was silence. Justin’s lips fell onto hers in the darkness of his bunk.
"I’m so glad you came, El."
Elise smiled, kissing his neck.
"Me too…"
Justin, who was ontop of Elise, jerked forward, smacking his head against the wall of his bunk. The bus had stopped, and they were at the hotel. Elise laughed at a now-in-pain Justin as he rubbed his forehead. He looked down at her, trying not to smile but his lips were twitching with laughter.
"It’s not funny." He got out, a grin escaping.
"I take it we’re here, ey?" She giggled. Justin put a foot of the bunk and placed it on the floor. Then he pulled his body up and out. He pulled the curtain back and helped Elise up.
Justin and Elise had been an item for almost 2 months. He was married now, for almost 2 years. His wife, Isabel met Justin when she was working at a daycare. The same daycare that their son Roland now attends. Justin and Isabel had Roland 3 years ago. While Isabel stayed at home in Memphis with their son, Justin went back on tour-one of the last tours as a group. There, he fell inlove with Elise. She worked at a bar in St. Louis where Justin and the gang had attended an after-concert party. The guys all knew about Justin’s affair-even Johnny. They all felt horrible for Isabel, since she had no idea of what was going on. But none of them could bring themselves to rat Justin out, and to break Isabel Timberlake’s heart. She was madly inlove with Justin.
As they stepped off the tour bus, Justin’s hand tightly holding Elise’s, the screams from the front of the hotel were a sound Justin knew all too well.
"Gimme a sharpie, hurry…" Justin muttered. Johnny whipped out a marker for Justin and told Elise to go ahead of him. She did, and disappeared inside the lobby.
"Justin, I love you!" One girl screamed even though he was standing face to face with her. He smiled a forced smile, and signed her picture of him.
"Thank you! Oh my God!"
After signing a few more autographs, he waved to the crowd and stepped into the safety and warmth of the hotel lobby. It was then that his cell phone began to ring, echoing in the huge lobby.
"Hello baby." Justin said, seeing on his ID that it was Isabel. Elise knew of Isabel, though she had never met her. She took a particular interest in Mrs. Timberlake. Elise was inlove with Justin, but Isabel had Justin’s last name, she wore the ring on her finger as a symbol of love from Justin, experienced the feeling of Justin making sweet love to her, birthed his child. These were all things that Elise wanted for herself. She was jealous of Isabel, even though Justin was making love to her every night. The fact that Justin was married, that he had a wife and son at home was starting to eat away at her. But she took his hand all the while.
"Yeah, we’re in New York now. We got a show tomorrow night. HBO is gonna be here, again. Mmm-hmm, it’s gonna be great." He told Isabel, stepping with Elise onto the elevator that would take them up to their hotel suite. "Of course I miss you, Bel. I can’t wait to see you tomorrow night…" He said, looking at Elise since she didn’t know of this. Elise’s eyes grew and Justin winked. "How's Rolly?" He asked, using the affectionate nickname for his son. "Is he? Wow baby, I swear I feel like he’s growing up without me there to watch." He paused. "I know it’s true. I wish there was something I could do." He again listened. "I can’t, you know this is my job, Isabel. Yes, I love you why would you think-you know what, I’m not gonna argue with you about this. Look, Isabel! I’ll call you tomorrow. I have to sleep. What do you mean I’m avoiding this? Avoiding what?"
Elise pried Justin’s metallic blue cell phone from his hands and pushed ‘end’, hanging up on Isabel.
"That’s enough, J. You guys really shouldn’t be fighting." Elise said. She handed his phone back to him and he slipped it into his coat pocket again. The elevator doors opened and they walked out. Justin took her hand again, and sighed.
"Man, I can’t wait to call it a night."
"I wanna take a bath, first. Is that ok?" Elise asked. Justin nodded as they neared their room at the end of the hall.
"Sure baby."
When they stepped into the hotel room, Elise was mesmerized. The suite was huge, over the top in luxury. She went right to the bathroom on the right hand side. She opened the door and gasped.
"Man, I could get used to a bathroom like this." She said.
The bathroom was large, with gold trimming and marble surfaces. The bathtub was marble as well, with a TV built into the wall. Justin came in behind her and wrapped his arms around her from behind.
"Justin, this is amazing."
"Isn't it?" He agreed. He kissed her neck, pushing her long brown hair over her opposite shoulder. Elise tilted her head back against Justin, letting his lips blaze fire on her skin. She let out an involuntary moan. She stepped forward, escaping Justin’s lips and hands. She then walked across the room and turned on the water in the tub. Now, she could see that the bathtub was actually more of a Jacuzzi, with jets built in. She turned her head to Justin, but he was no longer there. She found the right temperature for her bath, and left the room while it filled up.
Justin was standing on the far end of the room, standing infront of the huge bay windows that over looked Times Square.
"What ‘cha doin’ baby?" Elise asked, closing the distance between them. He turned his head back and looked at her, and then looked back out the window.
"It’s still hard to believe that there’s no World Trade Center… it used to be like… right there…" He said, pointing forward. "It’s gone now." He said in a whispery voice.
"I know, sweetie. I can’t believe it either."
There was a silence in the room, the sound of the water running in the bathroom the only exception. Justin sighed and turned to look at her. She looked at him and he smiled.
"Your so beautiful, Elly." He said, touching the side of her face with the back of his hand. She closed her eyes, and he leaned forward to kiss her. His cell phone rang again, and when he looked, it was Isabel. The look on his face made Elise sure of who it was. He waved her off towards the bathroom with a displeased look on his face. She kissed his lips and then headed towards the bathroom, her ears tuned.
"Hello." He groaned, answering the call. "Yes Isabel. No, I didn’t hang up on you, we were in the elevator so I must have got cut off. We as in the guys and me. They were all tired, that’s why you didn’t hear them."
As Elise undressed herself, Justin’s eyes fell onto her body. He didn’t want to talk to Isabel when Elise was taking her clothes off not even 20 feet away.
"Isabel, listen. I have to go, I’ll talk to you tomorrow!"
He hung up and threw his phone down.
"Dammit! I hate being married!" He yelled. Elise’s lips curled into a smile, not because she thought it was funny but because she felt bad for him.
"Come here, J. I can help you feel better." She said. He walked up to her and she hugged him. But Justin didn’t want to hug, he wanted something else, and Elise was more than willing to give it to him.
"I wanna make love to you, Elle."
"Then do it, I want you to."
Meanwhile, Isabel laid on the bed that she used to share every night with Justin, sobbing uncontrollably. She missed the real Justin, and she wanted him back. But the more he was away, the more she felt like she didn't know him. And the more she felt she didn't know him, the more she wondered. Was he keeping secrets?
