I have applied myself for several years to learning various concepts regarding computer programming and web design. Though I am far from an expert, I am confident enough to use my skills to build various web sites for non profit.
Am I a professional? No. Web design is a hobby for me, and I occasionally make a bit of spare change with my ideas.
What do I do for a living? I've been involved in several 'general labor' type of jobs, ranging from fast food, to construction cleanup, and janitorial positions. I've also enjoyed the rewards of working in nursing homes as a Laundry and Housekeeping Attendant. I put my heart into whatever employment I am offered. If someone hires me to do menial and repetitive tasks, I choose to maintain a positive attitude as well as a strict work ethic.
I've been unemployed since 2003, due to some personal issues. The time I've taken off from work has not been a total waste, as I used that time to pursue a college degree and also to work on my web design skills.
What was the degree in? I pursued an associates Degree in Business Arts. Unfortunately, due to some legal pressures, I dropped out of my courses after only six weeks of study.
Am I planning on going back? You bet. The time and effort I put into my studies was rewarding and worthwile. Though I felt the strain of being pulled in several directions at one time due to my legal responsibilities, I would do it again.
