The Trials

These are the poems that were conceived during

a very trying time for us.

Minute to Minute

My mind is filled with thoughts of you,

my heart is overflowing.

I may never have you close again,

it's painful not knowing.

I live my life from minute to minute.

Your smile, your touch is there.

even if I think you might not be in it,

We had our time to share.

Tears

I saw a tear in your eye today,

I know that I'm part of the reason.

If I could hold you in my arms,

you would know that I share the feeling.

The challenge that is before you,

I cannot help you fight.

I will hold you in my heart,

and there's already a tear in there

Rooms

Time heals all wounds

I'm not sure how that applies.

There is no would in my heart, because you are still there.

The doors that I have opened, are rooms filled up by you.

The memories are beautiful, and love fills every room.

The doors will close eventually, but slowly one by one.

I'll kiss the stars goodnight, My love and see you in the sun.

Wishes

I wish a wish that I hope comes true, someday I am sure.

That you'll be as happy as you can, even if it is without me.

I wish a wish that will come to be, if you come back to me.

I'll love, cherish you, with all my heart

Forever into eternity

Boundary Lines

There are fences and streets,

there are bars and walls,

some that are welcomed and some that are not.

But each one has it's lesson, it's story and it's purpose.

Once the line is broken, it's never the same.

It may be good, it may not be

but if you lose the friendship, you may soon lose the love

and if you gain the friendship, you may win it.

There are boundaries in every area of life,

and the only thing that can break them is

The heart

To Where

If the sky turns gray and the sun goes away,

I think of what we have and the gray clouds pass.

Your love keeps me going to where I'm not sure

but we'll get there together, for ours is a love that's pure.

Flight

The joy in my heart cannot compare,

to the love I feel when you are there.

I hear your thoughts in the night,

and they lift my spirit into flight.

The sun may rise or it may set,

my love for you, I'll never forget.

My Love for You

My love for you is as wide as the plains,

as deep as the sea.

My love for you is as strong as a rock,

gentle as a summer breeze.

My heart soars with yours, swift as a rising wind,

proud as a bird in flight.

My love for you will endure,

through all the seasons of your life.

My love for you is forever.

Sometimes

When I'm alone and lost in thought,

and all the world seems so far away.

You come to me in a dream,

gently taking my hand and filling my soul,

with the warmth of your presence.

and I smile, knowing that though

we cannot be together,

we'll always be close in our hearts.

Trials

I have tried not to think of you, you fill my every thought.

I have tried not to dream of you, you are in them all.

I have tried not to watch for you, every sound makes my heart jump.

I have tried not to touch you, I didn't succeed.

I have tried not to miss you, then I think of your smile.

I have tried to close those doors, but the rooms are overflowing.

I can't try to not love you, my heart tells me no anyway.

All my Might

I dream a dream of whispers, so soft and very quiet.

I dream a dream of lovers, touching in the night.

I dream a dream of memories, to have and to hold tight.

I dream a dream of sunshine, clear and oh so bright.

I dream a dream of you dear, to love with all my might.

A Place in my Heart

There's a place in my heart, that no one may enter.

It's locked so tightly, through springs and winters.

When I'm feeling lonely, I just look inside there,

at the special times that you and I shared.

The door has a lock, only you hold the key.

I'll keep them all safe, and never set them free.

There's a place in my heart,

that I no longer go, it's painful to be there

for I loved you so.

Memories

The scent of your cologne, is still on my pillow.

I hold it so close, and breathe you in.

My heart is still full, of our wonderful memories.

I open it up now, and see your smile.

The tears that I cry, are not for the future.

I let them go freely, for all that we had.

Eternity

The world is spinning slowly,

my days pass by so quickly.

I think of things that might have been.

The sun is warm and wonderful,

my heart still yearns for you.

I know the tears that my future holds.

The stars are shining brightly,

my nights are an eternity.

I dream of sweet memories that I have known.

The sky is blue and beautiful,

my thoughts turn to you.

As time goes by eventually,

my broken heart will heal.

Somebody

Somebody misses your laughter,

honest and sincere and kind.

The touch of your hand, the sound of your voice.

The comfort of knowing you're near

Somebody misses the magic,

of the wonderful things that you do.

The secrets you hold, the dreams you reveal.

The way you make wishes come true

Somebody waits for tomorrow,

another day closer to when.

The hoping is ended, the wishing is over.

And somebody holds you again.

If I had Known

If I had know our love would turn out as it has.

I would have told you that I love you everyday

I would have hugged you as often as I possibly could

I would have given you kisses,

even while you were sleeping

I would have called you lots,

to tell you I miss you

I would have never missed a special occasion

I would have loved you forever with all my heart

These are the things I would have,

No.. could have,

No.. these are the things

I did and more.

If I had known our love would turn out as it has

I wouldn't change a thing,

except you would still be here.

Waiting

The things that I have endured,

have made me stronger, more matured.

To know that you still truly love me,

keeps my head and my heart uplifted.

I struggle through each passing day,

you give me hope with your beautiful smile.

To know that someday you'll be here,

to spend eternity with only me.

My Strength

As I sit here in the evening air,

I know with all my love and care.

the task that is at hand is a dreadful thing.

I wish I could be there for you,

and help you through this thing you do.

But far and wide across the land,

you alone must see the ending.

I cannot sleep, for sleep will not come,

rest is so easy but not for some.

Be strong now dear, I know you can.

My strength to you I'm lending.

I'll need it back and soon you know,

we'll put ours together and watch it grow.

Our love will also grow far and wide,

a beautiful love meant to share.

My Love

You're not coming home today,

I know there is no way, to end this emptiness.

I must go on without you,

and leave the memories behind.

But don't you worry, they're hidden away,

deep inside my mind.

As long as I breathe, as long as I dream.

I'll keep on loving you,

no matter how long it seems.

If you should ever need me,

all you have to do is ask.

My love for you can only grow as time goes past

Within my Heart

You're always with me, even though we're apart.

When I'm lost in thought and I'm feeling all alone.

I close my eyes and think

of all the happiness we've known.

and somehow,

I feel better then, because I clearly see

since I hold you close within my heart.

You're always here with me.

Harmony

Love is memories bathed in moonlight,

warm hugs, and tender glances.

Smiles and gentle touches, giving and receiving.

Talking over problems, dreaming and believing.

Looking toward tomorrow, and all that is yet to be

Two hearts that beat as one

In perfect harmony.

If I knew it would be the last time I'd see you fall asleep,

I'd tuck you in more tightly, and pray the Lord your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time I'd see you walk out the door,

I'd hug you and kiss you and call you back for just one more.

If I knew it would be the last time I heard your name in praise,

I'd videotape each word, and play it back for days.

If I knew it would be the last time to spare a minute or two,

I'd stop and say "I love you," Instead of assuming you know I do.

If I knew it would be the last time I'd be there to share your day,

Well, I'm sure you'll have many more, So, I'll let this one slip away.

For surely there is a tomorrow to make up for an oversight,

And we'll always get a second chance to make everything all right.

There will always be another chance to say our "I love you's,"

And certainly there's another chance to say our "What I can do's."

But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get,

I'd like to say I love you, and hope you never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike,

And today might be your last chance to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow, Why not do it all today?

For if tomorrow never comes, you will surely regret the day,

You didn't take the extra time for a smile or hug or kiss.

And you surely aren't too busy to grant what may be their last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today, and whisper in their ear.

Tell them how much you love them, and that you'll always hold them dear.

Take the time to say "I'm sorry, forgive me or It's okay,"

And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today.

Apologize and start anew and tell the one who loves you,

That you love them too!

because you never know when this day will be your last.
