Notes: I don't write for any of these three characters much, but I tried. For you. I know you like Seto/Yuugi and I know you like Yuugi/Mokuba fluff. I tried that. I tried to incorporate what I could for you. It bounces around some, but I do hope you like it.
Added Notes: The names that you'll come across towards the end, I used an online dictionary for. X_X I do hope that they represent what I meant and are correct. I also am making sure that only you can see this. If you don't mind or want me to, I can post this in my writing journal, but for now, it's strictly for your eyes. You may share it if you actually want to, that's your choice.
More Notes: I don't own Yuugioh. Disclaimer inserted here. I think it's a good thing that I don't ^_~
Fandom: Yuugioh.

There was Kaiba Seto and then there was Motou Yuugi. Two of the most well known duelist of Duel Monsters, both had qualities that made them stand out in a way that was undeniable. Some of it was actually quite similar; not that it could be seen from the naked eye.
Yet, Kaiba Mokuba could see them. He knew his brother best, after all. Sometimes better than the CEO himself, did. However, that wasn't so surprising. Mokuba was Seto's world when it boiled down to it. Slipping a smile to his sleeping brother while in the middle of coding after the young Kaiba had fallen asleep trying to convince the CEO to go to sleep was just the smallest hint of that.
It had started with the tiniest attempts of the young Kaiba to get his older brother to at least see beyond the fact that Yuugi had often beat him in duels; even if some might debate that it was Yuugi's other that won, but that was always up for debate on what people knew and what people believed.
Eventually, Mokuba gave up on that tactic to try to hang out with the small duelist on his own time. The better he could get to know Yuugi, the better he could get his brother to possibly see past the fact that the tri-colour haired boy had beat him so often and hopefully see what Mokuba caught a glimpse of. Whether it was an excuse to get Seto away from the computer and possibly gain some human interaction (or maybe just a friend), only the young Kaiba knew.
It started with a few discussions over Duel Monsters and how past battles had gone. Giving them something to talk about that wouldn't linger too long on Seto, but would touch on it as much as Mokuba had wanted it to.
After a while, they were calling each other on the phone discussing anything that came to their minds. Most of the time, it was Duel Monsters or games. Of course, by this point, it also included the young Kaiba being reminded that school was important and that he shouldn't be procrastinating on his work in order to play games or talk to him, for that matter. Not that he did that often, but he did it enough for Yuugi to pick up on it.
Mokuba would often pout and point out that he was getting good grades and had nothing to worry about, but large eyes didn't work over the phone and most definitely did not work with the stubborn duelist. You see, as much as he cared for those whom he considered his friends, he still wanted what was best for them. Even if that meant reminding them what was important and what they had to keep in mind.
Once school was over, though, there was no need to have to weight what was more important to him. As such, Mokuba invited Yuugi to go to the park with him - as a start. It would be fun! It was strange, though. He still wanted this to be for his brother, but had begun to find himself wanting to spend more time with Yuugi. Because of who he was, he also managed to not spend any less time with his big brother; he was still his world. His family.
But, Yuugi, was his friend. Which meant spending time with him as well.
"Look!" The young Kaiba shouted, holding up a flyer that had just been handed to him. Holding it so that Yuugi could see it, Mokuba seemed to be beaming behind the paper. There was to be a fair, soon, that he wanted to go to. One with rides and games! One that he wanted to spend with Yuugi. Whether he had grown apart from the friends he had known that were closer to his age or if it was just that they were hadn't been his real friends to begin with, didn't matter. Not since he had met Yuugi whom behaved like a real friend.
Yuugi never insulted his brother nor did anything that really deserved his more manipulative and sneaky side to come out, so he saved that for games and fun. Not that it couldn't be fun any other time, but not with Yuugi; the duelist didn't deserve that.
Of course, Yuugi did agree to go with Mokuba after some agreements were made; those of which included curfew and making sure that Seto Kaiba had no problem with it. By this point, he didn't. He saw that Yuugi was making Mokuba happy and since it wasn't anything that the Kaiba hadn't already done, he had no reason to feal any real jealousy. Annoyance due to previous facts, though, yes.
They spent the rest of the day feeding animals and playing frisbee while talking about what the plans for the rest of the summer were. Their topic shifted slightly to where the two Kaiba's went every summer for a vacation. The first part was always just the two of them. This is where Mokuba got to see his brother most; at least without any business interruptions - which were banned unless they were an emergency. Seto meant it. The second half of the vacation, Mokuba was allowed to bring a few friends to join them. Still, work wasn't allowed, but this was where Seto would get to be reintroduced to Mokuba's friends and also get some time to himself without work. It was something he forced himself to do, since it was very difficult for him to not simply work.
Unfortunately, before Mokuba could bring up asking Yuugi, Seto had approached them and informed Mokuba that he had to go home. Before having the opportunity to ask why, there was a faint sound of thunder that came from some place not far from where they were at.
Considering Seto didn't wait for Mokuba to make his own judgement and come home, that meant it was going to be bad. Judging from the fact that Seto appeared to have just come out of Kaiba Corp to pick him up, said a lot. Understanding this, Yuugi said his goodbye's to Mokuba and handed him the flyer; a reminder that they had plans if Mokuba was allowed.
Which, he was. Weeks later, Yuugi and Mokuba were laughing in the middle of the fair; each of them holding a prize. Mokuba held a giant plastic blow-up mallet and Yuugi held a life-sized Kuriboh plush. "Are you sure your brother isn't sponsering this?" Yuugi had teased after the young Kaiba won him his prize.
With a smirk, Mokuba winked at Yuugi and reminded him that they would have got in free if it was. This earned some laughter from the both of them and shortly after that Yuugi had won Mokuba the plastic mallet; that had been used to swat away at some dogs that had started chasing a few cats around.
Mokuba had looked none-to-pleased and had shown exactly why he was a Kaiba; in his own right. While Yuugi took care of the two cats, petting and talking to them, Mokuba had chased the dogs away. Laughing at how tough they were acting against the smaller animals while running away from a young boy and his plastic toy.
Yuugi hadn't the chance to warn Mokuba about the dangers of some dogs before the animals had quickly taken off; leaving a triumphant Mokuba to laugh at the sight. This, of course, had been on their way from the fair to head back to the Kaiba's. They weren't that far and Seto had said they could stay for the finale - the fireworks, that were to be set off shortly after dark.
Just to get a head start, though, they had already begun to leave the fair while still making sure they would be able to catch the brilliant display without any troubles.
Both boys, on the ground, were playing with the felines; thankful that most people were either still at the fair or not around. This left them to remain where they were at without having to move - or without the poor cats running away in fear of some predator.
They discussed keeping the cats and naming them; Yuugi offered to take them to the vet then take them home. Holding one of them until Mokuba would be allowed to take one of them home. If not, they would still be able to name one and claim it to be the other's. Yuugi would be the one that Mokuba most identified with (or found most mischievous as the case may be), while Mokuba would be able to name Yuugi's.
After noting how kind and gentle one of the felines were, and how it took to Yuugi, Mokuba giggled some and stated that it should be named 'Atsui-chan.' Yuugi, amused, pointed to Mokuba's and dubbed the feline 'Itazura-chan'.
Before they could say anything further, Yuugi pointed up to the sky at the first whistle that signaled a firework was sent into the air. With wide eyes, Mokuba moved to sit beside Yuugi and leaned slightly against him. Worn out from the fun, but still heavily enjoying the sight that fell before them.
Yellows, oranges, blues... The colours fell together. Sparkled. Shined. They lit up the sky for the two friends as they sat there and watched the display with pure joy.
"Yuugi? I wanted to know, if you would like to come with me - to the vacation spot that I spoke to you about while we were at the park." Before Yuugi could bring up his older brother, Mokuba had quickly added, "Nii-sama says it's okay, if you want to."
Not expecting this, Yuugi's eyes surprisingly widened and then he began to beam. Letting the other know he would love to, he gave Mokuba a one-armed hug while still petting Atsui-chan. Returning the hug, Mokuba leaned his head against Yuugi's shoulder.
Though, it could barely be heard through the loud explosion of fireworks, Mokuba stated, "I'm glad you're my friend." He was sincere and meant it. He had his brother and loved him dearly, but some times people need more than family. Need more than blood.
Some times, friendship is stronger than family. It's made because people want it to, not because of the blood that binds them making them feel that they have to. It's something that can strengthen, be broken and mended if given the care and attention that those involved want. It can last without the idea that it's simply lasting because they have to, because they're family. Friends weren't like that. Friends had an unmistakable choice. However, they could be like family. He could have Seto and have someone whom was his friend, but could be like family.
That worked. For them, that worked.
I know that you like Phantom of the Opera... In combination with the story... plus a little something that I hope you'll like among these.

This would be something that I was going to make lj-styled, but seeing how I think you like to make your own, I did it like this instead ^_~
