The Fangirl Experience

*Disclaimer & Good Stuff* I don't own any of the Yu Yu Hakusho characters, but I *do* own a few of the merchandise and my very own life size Hiei that I drew-- Mine. You can't have him. Erm... I mean it. All characters are a matter of opinion, and I basically wrote this one for fun and wanted to enter it. It's my first written and completed fic for any sort of contest. It's a pairing of (or hinted pairing) Yuusuke and Kuwabara. And the for the first half my beta reader was Rea-chan who i owe so much for helping me with it. The second half... um. Wasn't. Ok. I could continue on, but I won't. Without further adieu, please enjoy The Fangirl Experience© by (yours truly) Otakugyrl.

“Are you sure you want to do this, Hiei?” the red head asked his shorter companion. The shorter demon nodded his head and smirked.

“Of all the ningens, the Spirit Detective should know best not to underestimate any Youkai. Especially me,” Hiei replied.

The red head sighed and shook his head. After being in the Ningenkai for a while Hiei had picked up quite a few of the ningen traits, including payback. In a fun way, at least. Hiei usually wasn’t one to play such “childish games” but one would assume everyone has their limits.

“Ok, I will go let the host know that you’re ready to work with him,” the red head sighed and walked through the door at the far side of the room.

Hiei stood there for a moment pondering the game he was going to play on his other ‘companion.’ He let out a soft chuckle and walked over to a nearby sofa and sat, legs crossed, to await any notice of what to do next. It was another exception he made. Actually waiting to hear more from someone else’s command for him to help comply with—only to get revenge.

A few weeks ago the Spirit Detective, Urameshi Yuusuke, had gone on the newly released television show “The Fangirl Experience”, where he'd be testing Hiei’s patience and temper with ningens. And on top of that, Yuusuke attempted to make it look like Hiei and Kurama were more than just friends. Just being exposed on a widely known show angered Hiei enough. Then to find out all the things Yuusuke tried to pull. That was it.

Hiei clenched his fist as he remembered some of the things Yuusuke did to try to frame him. The strategically placed flowers and roses around wherever Hiei went that day, the fangirls that appeared to follow him, the various hints of Hiei's could-be sex life and the numerous other things Yuusuke did during those thirty minutes of un-edited air time. The worse thing for Hiei was knowing that he could not kill any of the ningens around him due to the high possibility of severe punishment. Yuusuke pushed as far as he could with Hiei, making sure not to break past Hiei’s boundaries or limits. Before that day Hiei had never heard of “The Fangirl Experience” but after being “Framed,” as the saying went, he hastily confronted Kurama about this ‘show.’

Since the Dark Tournament, many of the female fans wanted to see more of their favorite fighters. They got together and figured out a perfect scheme to get what they wanted, although they needed to somehow get the ningens to work with them to make the “Fangirl Experience” real and known throughout both the Ningenkai and Makai. That was the difficult task. Unknown on how they did it, the show was created. Fans would write the show and talk about someone they were ‘dedicated to’ or ‘obsessed with.’ From that list the creator would pick a fan who would then tell their ‘obsession,’ the fighter, that they would be on a new television show. So that alone would be an experience for a fan (and mind you, seeing some ningens with some Youkai whom they think are human and pulling on them has got to be quite a sight to see). Because most of the fans were highly obsessed and mostly female, the show was dubbed the “Fangirl Experience.” That ‘obsession’ would then, with help from the fangirl (or boy), do their best to come up with a prank in order to get a friend of theirs to basically look as much a mockery or embarrassment or angry as possible. Whichever chosen. If the episode was popular, or if the person was favored, the person 'Framed' would be invited back to pull his or her own prank on the original prankster.

For Hiei, the idea of the show sounded complicated. Kurama continued to explain, and re-explain, the 'game' to Hiei until he finally understood the idea that Yuusuke had been chosen by a fan and that Hiei was the victim in that show. But because of the popularity of that particular episode, Hiei could now return the prank to Yuusuke. With that knowledge Hiei quickly accepted to participate in this 'game.'

The door opened, suddenly interrupting Hiei's thoughts, as the red head returned.

“Are they ready, Kurama?” Hiei asked patiently. His eyes beaming with anticipation.

Kurama nodded and shook his head at his petite comrade, “Yes they’re ready. You do know what you’re doing…”

“Yes you stupid fox. I know exactly what I’m doing.”

Kurama chuckled at the quick remark. It was always amusing to see Hiei like this. He enjoyed it just as much as he enjoyed seeing any of his friends become highly amused with something. To see the anticipation was an inviting feeling.

Quickly standing up, Hiei left through the same door Kurama entered in, leaving Kurama with his own thoughts. Kurama wondered what exactly Hiei would do, and how far he would go. To try to get Yuusuke back was going to be difficult. The worse part was that Kurama had to play along. This wouldn't be the first occasion that Kurama was used in order to tease Yuusuke for Kuwabara's benefit, nor the last.

Kurama casually wrapped his arm around Yuusuke’s and walked him to his house after hanging out in the mall all day. Yuusuke was basically being pulled behind the part-kitsune, rather forcefully, to his house. Finding it odd, but not saying a word, Yuusuke casually pulled his arm back and walked on ahead; sticking his hands in his pockets. Kurama shrugged and looked toward the house, taking a deep breath.

Yuusuke opened the door to find it abandoned. He shrugged it off, it wasn’t uncommon for his mother to be off rendezvousing with some of her acquaintances. Kurama casually followed behind, closing the door behind him.

“I can’t believe, all of this time!! It’s been you!!” a familiar female voice yelled from another room.

Recognizing the voice, Yuusuke ran toward the room to see Keiko.

“Yuusuke!! All of this time!! This is what you’ve been doing??” Keiko yelled as she came face to face with Yuusuke. She pushed him hard, eyes glistening with ready to fall tears.

“Ke—Keiko?” Yuusuke stuttered staring blankly at the short brunette.

“How—how could you!?!?” she continued to stammer. She shoved him one last time before storming out of the house in tears.

Kurama stared blankly at the stunned Yuusuke, and then to the door that Keiko had come from. Tilting his head curiously, he walked past Yuusuke and into the next room, he came to a full stop he let out a small gasp.

“Kur—Kurama?” Yuusuke stuttered cautiously from behind. He debated on following after Keiko, but after Kurama’s reaction he had the urge to look for himself.

Peering through the next room, Yuusuke stared in horror at the sight in front of him. Leaning against the door frame, trying to maintain some sort of balance. His legs weakened and heart hit the floor.

“You… you left Keiko… for them? You left Keiko-chan, for him?” Kurama questioned.

Oblivious to Kurama’s question, Yuusuke took a step into his bedroom. Stepping on numerous empty trays on the floor of previous meals, he continued to step cautiously. Stammering in the room he poked at the sleeping figure in his bed.

“Yuusuke…” was all that Kurama was able to say before Yuusuke quickly kicked the lying figure.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN MY BED!!” Yuusuke yelled at the now awakened figure.

“Urameshi!!” the figure exclaimed.

“What the HELL are you doing Kuwabara!?!” Yuusuke yelled, raising his fist in a threatening manor.

Kuwabara sat, shirtless, in Yuusuke’s bed and stared wide-eyed at him. Yuusuke suddenly wasn’t sure if he wanted to laugh at the baka, or proceed to kick his ass.

“WILL you answer ME??” Yuusuke continued.

“I was waiting for you, Yuusuke-kun,” Kuwabara said leaning his back against the wall using his arms as a pillow.

Running over and attempting to push Kuwabara out of his bed, Yuusuke, instead, stumbled over Kuwabara falling face first next to him.

“So it’s true, Yuusuke? You and Kuwabara are an—item?” Kurama asked staring at the interesting situation. Sprawled over Kuwabara’s lap, Yuusuke stared blankly at Kurama.

“No!! We are NOT an—“

“Yuusuke!! I even wore your favorite boxers!” Kuwabara said batting his eyes.

Disgusted, Yuusuke shoved himself off of Kuwabara.

Yuusuke was now disgusted, flustered and confused. Why would Kuwabara act so strange? Why would anyone think they were an item? And, most importantly, why was Kuwabara in boxers in his bed?

Yuusuke felt a light tugging on his pant leg and found a half naked Kuwabara looking up at him.

“What the—“ Yuusuke started.

Kuwabara took Yuusuke’s hand in his and slowly leaned forward to place a kiss upon it.

Yuusuke stood frozen and in shock at his school-mate and comrade continued to push himself on him.

“Yuusuke!! I knew it!!” a female shrieked from behind the pair.

Turning around Yuusuke saw a fuming Keiko with a tiny blue penguin-like creature in her arms.

“I came back because Puu-chan seemed odd, and now I see why!! I’m sorry to have interrupted between you and your lover!!” Keiko continued.

“But—Keiko! It’s not what you think!!” Yuusuke said trying to pull away, but was held back by the persistent man at his feet. “GET OFF ME!” he said kicking Kuwabara away from him and running to the upset Keiko.

“Why is it going to a commercial now?” Shizuru sat staring at the television, cigarette in hand watching her brother proceed to make an idiot of himself.

“Poor Kazuma-kun. I hope …” Yukina started.

“Oh there’s no need to worry, Yukina-chan. He’s just acting…” Shizuru started, followed by ‘I think’ in her mind. He was putting on a heavy act, and very out of character. She shrugged it off and attempted to get a glimpse at Hiei’s reaction as he sat watching his idea evolve. He was impressed at seeing his comrade flustered, but slightly confused why Yuusuke hadn’t already beaten up his invader.

“It’s almost over, Hiei-san. After this commercial break, they’re going to have to tell him,” the director noted.

Hiei just nodded and scoffed at the television. It wasn’t going entirely as planned and almost looked like it wasn’t complete acting. Most of the show was spent recapping why Hiei got to do the honors of ‘framing’ someone, and the other half was commercials. The more the show continued, the more Hiei despised television and its advertisements.

The show returned only to leave all the viewers in awe and shock. Hiei gasped and leaned back in his chair. Yukina covered her mouth and Shizuru’s cigarette fell to the floor.

“Kuwabara---“ Kurama said quietly, just as shocked as the viewers.

“Yu—Yuusuke…” Keiko whispered.

Kuwabara took a step back from Yuusuke’s lips after briefly meeting them with his own. The expression on Yuusuke’s face left everyone wondering. He stood there. Eyes wide, emotion blank.

“He kissed him!?!” was all that was heard throughout the room where the producers sat watching and airing.

Finally, from a delayed reaction, Yuusuke took a step toward Kuwabara. Unsure of what he was going to do next Kuwabara raised his hands in front of Yuusuke and started laughing.

Yuusuke froze. He then wondered what the idiot was laughing at now.

Kurama and Keiko couldn’t do anything but stare blankly at the two. They stood in awe, shock, and in amusement.

“You’ve been framed Urameshi, you’ve been framed!!” Kuwabara said pointing at Yuusuke.

“That was lame,” Shizuru mumbled under her breath.

“I’ve. Been. What?” Yuusuke questioned balling his fists up.

Keiko blankly pointed a few places in the room where camera’s were located, still confused over the earlier scene.

“You’ve been ‘framed’, Urameshi!! Ha ha!!” Kuwabara continued, enjoying every moment—even a bit too much.

Before able to say anything else, Kuwabara was quickly knocked to the floor with repeated punches and attacks from Yuusuke. The camera’s panned away from the distraction where Hiei was shown and the show ended.

Hiei, Shizuru, Yukina and a few of the producers went to Yuusuke’s room only to see him sitting on Kuwabara and still attackingly him.

“Are you proud Hiei?” Kurama asked walking over to the intrigued Youkai.

Hiei smirked. Not only did he get to ‘frame’ Yuusuke, but he also was able to see the scene before him.

“It could have been better you know,” one of the producers said sarcastically.

“Don’t ruin the moment. This is the best we have for now,” Shizuru said as she watched her brother helplessly laughing at the attacks Yuusuke gave.

“The ratings are high!! I doubt they would have been this high had Kuwabara not kissed Yuusuke!! We MUST use this method again!” The director yelled through the halls. He, too, came to see the final scene in person.

That’s the end?? Gomen. But, yes.
