Changes in Spring
Earthy tones
behind a frozen
labia of mud--
These icy whites
and brighter lights
are finally dispersing
to my comfortable shades
of avocado green,
musty orange,
and grey-gravel stone
brown.
Promised rocks of hope
spiting the dust
and shaping the motions
of mulch
forgive our bitterness
and presently
free us
from our cold exteriors
