I've always had an interest in
making my own clothes and I've always had an
interesting eye
for picking out outfits. Not to mention my love for everything
make-up.
So it's no surprise that I am currently an art major and theater
concentration, and I'm heading
for a career in make up and fashion design. After attaining my BA from Guilford I plan to go back to my home town, Raleigh, and go to the design school at NC State University. In order to immerse myself in the fashion industry I plan to move to New York, since two thirds of the people in the fashion business are employed in New York or California. The starting salary for someone in the fashion industry starts out pretty low. The lowest 10% of fashion designers make less then $28,000 a year, but the highest 10% make more then $112,000 a year.
