The house is silent.
The sound of my four little paws
Echo off the empty walls.
Aimlessly I wander through the house
Looking for some entertainment.
I pick and claw at the closed cupboards
Listening to the sound as they
Continuously bang shut.
He comes home, yet it still remains silent.
I call out to him with a simple cry
And only then does he notice me.
I rub up against his leg, begging for attention.
He looks down,
And finally a smile runs across his face
As he bends down to pick me up.
Finally it seems like my life has a purpose
As I rest in his warm lap,
Gently rocking him to sleep.
