If the thought of living on the Cape sounds appealing or romantic or trouble free,
THINK AGAIN

    Here are two well-known facts:
  • in the warm months, traffic can be tied up for miles due to the influx of tourists
  • in the winter, the weather may be damp, raw, downright freezing, or perhaps snowing a blizzard

If this doesn't scare you off, consider
    ECONOMIC FACTORS

  • the price of gasoline, services, food, or other goods is often 10 to 25% higher than prices off Cape
  • year-round rentals are scarce and may easily cost over $1,000 a month
  • the price of a decent 3-bedroom, 2-bath home starts at $300,000
  • employment is mainly in the service industry and provides low or minimum-wage pay

THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE CAPE COD

Okay. Okay. It's true. Cape Cod has an environmental charm all its own. Being surrounded by ocean can balance out the negatives and make living on the Cape well worthwhile (one lives "on Cape Cod," not "in Cape Cod"). Actually, many people fall in love with Cape Cod...so come, if you must, but don't say I didn't warn you......
