It's just chimerical vomit.
Zaria is a childling Eshu who, since her chrysalis on her ninth birthday,
has adapted readily to her fae form. "Home," such as it was, held
nothing for her but abuse from her drunken foster father. She still
can't bear to be around the consumption of alcohol, and closets
terrify her. Despite the Eshu's reputation for wanderlust, Zaria is
currently quite happy to live with her kindhearted and loving mentor,
Emeritis, who, despite his blindness, provides her with the affection
that she has been so desperately starved for throughout her childhood.
>>Basic Stats<<
Human Name: Rae
Fae Name: Zaria
Kith: Eshu
Age: 9 (childling)
Attributes: Highly intelligent and perceptive. Weak but
relatively dexterous. High in charisma and rather pretty but
completely devoid of the ability to manipulate.
Abilities: Very empathic, kenning of 5 with a specialty in
chimera, gremayre of 3, a great talent for performance developed not
on stage but rather as a defense mechanism from abusive caretakers.
Arts: Wayfare, 3 points.
Glamour:5
Willpower:2
Banality:1
Mentor: Emeritis, a now-blind troll. (Find out more here).
Chimera: Foxbrough, a copper-colored, affectionate
luckdragon with the personality of an easily-distracted five-year-old
("Mah nah mah nah, do DO do do do do..."),
the strength of an eighteen-wheeler, a penchant for honey, healing powers,
and the almost uncanny ability to extricate himself from sticky situations.
Prized Possessions: A twig given to her by Foxbrough when he
first appeared to her in the closet of her fourth (and hopefully last,
although who knows the whims of the Storyteller...) foster home. A
copy of The Neverending Story, Grimm's Fairy Tales, and
an as-of-yet unreturned library book about Native American legends. A
pack of cards given to her by Emeritis, which, according to Maida
and Zia, are very powerful and should be used with caution. The cards
have the ability both to predict and to influence the future, depending
on the way they are read. Zaria is still learning to use them. More
recent acquisitions include Lorelorn's mirror shroud and freehold (at least
until the wilder Eshu returns from caring for his sister).
Other Traits: Severly claustrophobic. Occasionally
experiences flashbacks of previous abuse and neglect. Curious to a
fault. Is extremely precocious - has an eidetic memory and is a very
fast learner. Remembers pieces of past lives; apparently was one of
the closest friends of the Eshu princess Zubidaia (whose murder brought
about the long feud between the Eshu and the Sidhe house of Beaumayne)
and found her stabbed to death.
Zaria is a very fun character to play, although I feel like I could do
more with her. Oftentimes, Zaria's youth is a liability to the rest of
the party, since she isn't particularly combat-ready.
(Of course, there was that one time that Foxbrough took out
a noctnitsa...heh.) I like the freedom that playing a young girl gives
me. ("I puke on him!") Zaria in many ways reminds me of myself at
that age (although I, of course, grew up in a loving family) -
imaginative, curious, a voracious reader, and quite fond of luckdragons.
Heck, what am I saying? I'm still all those things. And I still want
a luckdragon - though hopefully one smart enough not to decide he
wants to snot all over the place in imitation of my own allergies.
Zaria is a very friendly child, although anyone who says anything
against her mentor is likely to earn her unending animosity. She is
enormously devoted to Emeritis, views Lorn as an older brother, and
has a healthy regard for both Aimelie and Julianna. Kelsa is a lot of
fun and a great cook, although she can be annoyingly protective at times.
As for Trihannye, well, she did mock Emeritis when he lost his
sight, and for that Zaria cannot forgive her. She'll have to make up
for it in a big way before Zaria wil have anything to do with her. As
for the Beaumayne Sidhe that they just ran into at the Wawa - he seems
nice enough, if a bit paranoid. An interesting man...time will tell.
